What To Do This Weekend, From The Mighty Hoopla Festival To Outdoor Supper Clubs

Discover Spitalfields’ summer weekender

Welcoming summer in style this weekend is East London hotspot Spitalfields and their Fresh & Unboxed Weekender.

Taking place across four days, the series of events will unveil the destination’s new look after 18 months of renovations, celebrating the area’s community spirit and independent shops and eateries. London’s newest food hub on Lamb Street will be introduced, complete with nine exciting food operators, including Pizza Guys, Rudies Jerk Shack, Dos Mas Tacos, Ebby’s Kitchen, Burger & Beyond, Duck Truck, Smokoloko, Wicked Fish and I-Thai. Across the weekend, Ebby’s Kitchen will be giving out free halloumi fries with every order, redeemable via the Spitalfields app.

There’ll be plenty of foodie excitement also landing, including Punk Chef – the first ever deaf TV chef presenter to emerge in mainstream TV – and his pop-up restaurant; Brother Marcus’ ostrich egg extravaganza (a new brunch featuring an ostrich egg equivalent of 24 chicken eggs!); and Kill The Cat’s pop-up bar serving up craft beers. In Bishops Square Garden, look forward to a free open-air screening of Moulin Rouge! on Friday, live music and fitness challenges across the weekend. Plus, many of the neighbourhood’s boutiques will be offering discounts and offers across the weekend too. Download the free Spitalfields app to get access to rewards, discounts and events, and receive a free lunch box and tote on the day!
