The Lighterman is a contemporary pub and dining room located in Granary Square, at the canalside heart of King’s Cross. Spread across three stunning floors with wrap-around terraces, a bar along the towpath, and all-day casual dining and drinking, The Lighterman offers the ideal setting for any occasion and is open every day.
Its modern British menu focuses on relaxed yet innovative pub cooking that’s both seasonal and sustainable. Guests can enjoy fresh salads, locally sourced produce cooked over coals, wood oven flatbreads, and indulgent desserts. At the bar, small sharing plates are complemented by an extensive selection of cocktails, biodynamic wines, craft beers, and premium spirits.
The Lighterman x Lillet
To celebrate the warmer months, The Lighterman has partnered with French aperitif brand Lillet to unveil a newly reimagined first-floor terrace. Overlooking the vibrant fountains of Granary Square and the tranquil stretch of Regent’s Canal, the terrace introduces a chic, continental flair to one of London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.
The collaboration highlights British seasonal dining with a French twist, featuring fresh, seafood-led dishes paired with Lillet’s signature aperitifs. Menu highlights include Seabass Tartare with creamy crushed avocado, fresh chilli and lime; Grilled Whole King Prawns in chilli and garlic butter with golden skin-on fries; and Maldon Rock Oysters served chilled with a Shallot & Cabernet Sauvignon mignonette and Tabasco.
To accompany the menu, the terrace offers a curated cocktail selection, including the sparkling Lillet 75 with Champagne, Lillet Blanc, elderflower and verjus; a refined Martini with vodka or gin, Lillet Blanc, plum sake and grapefruit; and the Lillet Rosé Spritz, a refreshing mix of Lillet Rosé, tonic and thyme.
