Summer is in full swing, and who better to chat with about all-things seasonal beauty than Vogue Williams? We caught up with Irish podcaster, model, brand trustee (and more) for her top beauty products, tanning tips and go-to London spots.

What’s your earliest beauty memory?

My earliest beauty memory is probably stealing my mum’s body illuminator. I’d never seen one before and I was absolutely fascinated with it.

What beauty advice would you give your twenty-year-old self?

Now I didn’t learn this too long after but I never ever bake myself in the sun, I never get burnt, and I swear by factor 50.

What beauty products do you repeatedly use?

Tan has just been part of my life since I was about 15 and it makes me feel really good about myself. My face is so grey because I wear SPF 50 every day. So I love our Bare by Vogue Face Tanning Serum – it’s probably one of my favourite products ever and it’s something that I use daily.

Where, what or who gives you inspiration for developing your products?

The team of Bare give inspiration for developing products. We started out with our main skews and then we’ve just added to them. We always look at what’s happening in the market and try and find really, really cool things to add to our brand.

Where do you shop for special beauty finds?

I could spend my life in Sephora and Space NK. I love wandering around Superdrug and Boots. Oh my god, I end up spending a fortune in those places. And I love seeing new things online. I get loads of advice from the people that I get facials with. I know you’re supposed to be quiet at a facial but I spend the entire time asking the facialist all of her go-to things.

What are your go-to skin summer saviours?

SPF, always. And fake tan. I fake tan everyday because I love being bronzed. I always take a Bare by Vogue Ultra Dark Lotion on holidays with me and I top up all the time while I’m away.

What are your makeup bag heroes?

I am loving the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless Foundation. It’s really gorgeous. It still leaves your skin feeling like skin, it lasts all day. It’s got great coverage, but it’s not too heavy and it is my favourite foundation. Sometimes I don’t even have to wear concealer with it – it’s that good.

Have you got a signature scent?

I love Le Labo Another 13. I also absolutely adore Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. I’ve kind of gone backwards a bit and I’m loving CK One Again.

Any beauty golden rules?

Find yourself a really good eyebrow specialist. Brows can make such a huge difference to your face, and I love getting my brows done. I go to Kim and the Dublin Makeup Academy back home. There’s a salon in London called Sister Salon, with two girls from Belfast Ireland, they do great brows. They are the only people I like touch my brows.

What is one of the best hacks you’ve learnt for applying (or maintaining) fake tan?

The exfoliating mitt is so good. So if I put on my tan, I’ll start exfoliating two days later in the shower – just a quick exfoliation. Your skin gets really really soft and then it also helps the tan fade evenly.

Name the one product you never leave home without.

Lip balm. I’ve had to buy so much lip balm when I go out, if I forget it. I’ve even gone home to get it. I love it so much.

What’s in your in-flight travel bag?

I never put on makeup if I’m flying, particularly long haul. I’ll always take a really nice serum, or one of those sheet masks, eye masks, and a really lovely hand cream. I love the Aesop hand cream. It’s so, so nice.

You’re no stranger to London, what’s your go-to London restaurant?

There’s a restaurant called Dorian and it is so beyond delicious. We’re actually trying to take a Dorian break because we went weeks in a row but it’s such a great restaurant it’s really fun. The food is spectacular, and they do lovely drinks as well.

And your favourite local spot?

My favourite local spot in London as well Battersea Park. I spent most nights there because the three kids love it.
