When it comes to investment pieces, you want to know that said items are working hard on the cost-per-wear front. And perhaps the priciest staple in any men’s wardrobe is the humble suit. But there isn’t just one way to style the three-piece. In fact, we argue it’s the most versatile combo around.
To that end, we caught up with Instagram style icon @monsieurcoupet, who re-works tailored separates like a pro, to chat about his fashion ethos, along with the many ways he reinvents his suit separates.
How would you describe your style?
“I consider my style to be effortless, chic and versatile. An era that I refer to often is the late 80s-early 90s,” explains Georges. “Most of my wardrobe’s key pieces, such as blazers and high-rise trousers, are from vintage secondhand shops. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my tailor.
“Whether brand new or thrifted, it is important to get your clothes tailored and adjusted to your personal preference – I think it adds that extra boost of confidence and makes the item truly yours.”
Most of my wardrobe’s key pieces, such as blazers and high-rise trousers, are from vintage or secondhand shops.
