The World’s 50 Best Hotels Have Been Revealed

After the World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced earlier this year, the next big reveal is 2025’s 50 Best Hotels. While Hong Kong’s Rosewood earned the top spot for the year, there were some iconic London hotels that made it to the 50 best list, including Claridges, Raffles at The OWO, The Connaught, and The Emory. Outside the city, Insta-famous Estelle Manor (in Whitney) also made the cut. Read on for the complete list:
1. Rosewood Hong Kong

Rosewood Hong Kong takes the top spot in 2025, soaring 270 metres above Victoria Harbour and offering stunning views of the city. Designed by Tony Chi, it blends east and west beautifully, filled with art and cosy sitting rooms. The spacious rooms feature luxe materials and marble bathrooms, while suites include butler service and exclusive lounge access. With 11 restaurants serving everything from Michelin-starred Shunde and Indian cuisine to casual Italian and Spanish, plus a top-tier spa, Rosewood Hong Kong delivers an unbeatable luxury experience.

2. Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Four Seasons Bangkok, situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, ranks second. Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, it blends cascading courtyards, lush gardens, and contemporary Thai art with 299 spacious rooms and suites that offer seamless indoor-outdoor living. The hotel buzzes with life from its Michelin-recognised restaurant Yu Ting Yuan, serving authentic Cantonese dishes, to the lively BKK Social Club, a top bar inspired by Buenos Aires and Mexican cultures. Nestled in Bangkok’s creative district, the hotel perfectly balances resort-style calm with city energy, complemented by a serene wellness centre offering traditional therapies and fitness options.

3. Capella Bangkok

Capella Bangkok, crowned the world’s best hotel in 2024, is a peaceful riverside escape in the heart of the city. With 101 rooms and villas that feel more like private apartments, it’s all about space, light and quiet luxury. The standout riverside villas feature private gardens and plunge pools, ideal for unwinding. Dining hits the mark with Michelin-starred Mediterranean dishes at Côte and lively Thai flavours at Phra Nakhon. The team of Capella ‘Culturists’ curates everything from meditation sessions to flower-garland weaving, making every stay deeply personal and memorable.

4. Passalacqua

Passalacqua in Lake Como, once owned by illustrious guests like Vincenzo Bellini and Count Andrea Lucini-Passalacqua, stays true to its legendary roots. Set in an 18th-century villa, it’s a perfect blend of baroque elegance and relaxed Italian charm. With just 24 rooms, all set within stunning terraced gardens, each sanctuary offers breathtaking lake views, high-end craftsmanship, and a feeling more like a private home than a hotel. The vibe is effortless and timeless, with local, seasonal dishes served in a simple, welcoming atmosphere. Surrounded by lush gardens and with access to private boats and wellness spaces, Passalacqua is all about enjoying la dolce vita.

5. Raffles, Singapore

Raffles Singapore is the ultimate throwback to the golden age of travel. Think: liveried doormen, polished teak verandas, and 115 atmospheric suites that feel like stepping into a timeless story. The grand neo-Renaissance building, dating back to 1899, is more than a hotel, it’s a landmark steeped in history, from the first electric lights in Singapore to being the birthplace of the legendary Singapore Sling cocktail. Spend your day wandering the lush gardens, cooling off in the rooftop pool, or indulging in world-class dining at spots like the Tiffin Room and Yì by Jereme Leung. And when the sun sets, there’s no better place to sip a classic cocktail than the iconic Long Bar, where every moment feels like a scene from a classic film.
