With 12M views, TikTok has spoken once again with the latest makeup trend, the 242 makeup rule.

For the uninitiated, it’s quite simply a minimalist (ish) approach to applying your makeup routine. All you require is two products on the eyes, four for your base and two for the lips, and that’s your lot. Perfect for busy mornings, low-key days and no makeup, makeup looks. 242 is the ideal fool-proof formula for achieving flawless, natural-looking makeup in 10 minutes flat.
