As summer days slowly slip by and a new season gently creeps in, I can’t help but feel a flutter of excitement. As much as I love my cut-offs and flip flops, I can hear the call of cosy knitwear and the shades of fall. So here are the autumn/winter ’25 trends I’m already obsessing over…

1. Luxe Lace

Admittedly, lace details are nothing new, but for this in-between season, they are both beautiful and delicate. Paired with oversized tees, knitwear or blazers, lace looks chic, contemporary, and so very autumn winter ’25. Go punchy, as inspired by Saint Laurent, or boho and free-spirited, as spotted at Chloé.

2. Chocolate Brown

There’s no question that this delicious, rich shade is set to dominate. I, for one, had never been a fan until now. But now, well, I can’t get enough. This season, as I watched this colour sashay down the runways at Stella McCartney, Michael Kors and Victoria Beckham, I couldn’t help but get drawn in by its sophistication. Apparently, I am not alone, as it’s already flooding our favourite high street stores.

Rich chocolatey shades of brown are set to be everywhere.

3. Animal Print

A no-brainer, right? I mean, is it even a trend? Every season, we are gifted a new iteration of animal print. From leopard to cow and zebra to snake, anything goes, but for me, I’m a sucker for leopard print. As luck would have it, on the catwalks, it was all about leopard. Khaite, Saint Laurent, Versace, Valentino… the list goes on.

4. Go For Glitter

I adore seeing a bit of sparkle outside party season. I especially love it when sequins are paired with more everyday pieces. Think sweaters with twinkly skirts or striped shirts under a glittery overlay – the look is playful, glam yet laidback. Isabel Marant is a master at this combo and will often feature shiny embellishments next to more edgy details. Very rock’n’roll.

Sequins are not just for Christmas – so add them to your AW25 wardrobe pronto for an instant glow-up.

5. Sulty Sheers

Not always for the faint-hearted, but the floaty fragility of this trend is mesmerising. There’s something ephemeral about layers of translucent fabric wafting about your body. Altuzarra, Nina Ricci and Chloé embraced the ‘dare-to-bare’ attitude with both a sultry and sophisticated spin. Much like AW25’s love affair with glitter, this trend is made more everyday when paired with more casual numbers like super soft knits.

6. The Stripe Shirt

Funnily enough, this is another one of our AW25 trends that is more classic than a fleeting trend. I mean, you can not go wrong. Simple, chic, yet so very timeless. Content creators have got creative with their styling, layering like a Miu Miu muse or teaming with lace or glitter, but for me, slipping on this fashion perennial with jeans is always going to work.
