13 Beauty Trends To Have On Your Radar For 2024

Stay ahead of the curve this year, with the beauty trends that are set to make waves. From Pantone colour-inspired makeup to multi-colour lips – and even the return of the hangover – 2024 is set to see beauty enter new realms. Here our some of the beauty influencers to look out for in 2024 . Here are our beauty predictions for the year ahead. You heard it here first!
The trend: Peach Makeup
Although this sounds like a questionable colour to add to any palette or makeup collection, it seems that Pantone’s Colour of the Year will be the leading light in the colour cosmetics world.
Expect soft apricot-toned bronzers, eyeshadows, balms and shimmers for eyes and cheeks – especially flattering on darker skin tones.
The trend: Hangover Beauty
Fuelled by Gen Z’s growing anti-wellness attitude, a new wave of brands is emerging that promotes indulgence and rejects the notion of sacrifice. Low-maintenance “hangover’ beauty products are designed to address the effects of late nights and partying without judgment or hassle and even include cosmetics that are formulated in a way that means you can fall asleep in your makeup without feeling guilty. Expect to see this trend embraced all over TikTok with a whole new generation of beauty junkies taking a more forgiving and honest approach to self-care. Who has time for a sight-step routine anyway?
The trend: Chocolate Nails
Chocolate manis is the way to go. It’s the quick fix to ensuring you’re on trend with browns, beiges, and coffee shades. Straight out of Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, you’ll be seeing brown talons all over TikTok, trust us.
And if it’s good enough for Mrs Biebs, who are we to argue?
The trend: Skin Streaming
At last, it looks like we’ll be scaling back on our skincare routine this year in the form of ‘skin streaming,’ which is all about encouraging a slimline routine to prevent damaging your skin barrier with too many products. If it means more time in bed in the morning, we’re sold!
The trend: Cherry Cola Lips
Increasing in popularity by more than 2,000% in Google searches compared to six months ago, the cherry cola lip trend is a make-up style that emulates the rich, deep colours of a cherry cola drink. The trend relies on combining reds and browns with high-shine glosses, and for a fun, super juicy finish.
The trend: Toffee Makeup
We’ve had latte makeup, strawberry girl makeup, doughnut-inspired makeup, the list goes on…and now it seems we have toffee makeup to look forward to this year.
Set to be the hot new look, think caramels, honey, beige-brown and golden hues that are no longer just the flavours of your favourite Quality Street.
The trend: Enter Ectoin – the new ‘It’ ingredient
Expect to read A LOT about the amino acid derivative, Ectoin, “which is set to take centre stage in our skincare routines in the New Year,” according to the British Beauty Council. “Combining the moisturising properties of hyaluronic acid and the barrier-boosting effects of niacinamide, this is big news for skincare. Whether it’s in a thirst-quenching serum formula or a creamy barrier-repairing moisturiser – this will be the buzzy ingredient on everyone’s shelfies.”
The trend: Bobs
The super flattering hairstyle is going nowhere in a hurry. From butterfly bobs to preppy bobs to Italian bobs (a more voluminous, bouncy take on the Parisian bob).
Unlike a traditional bob, it’s the butterfly bobs that keep spreading their wings with textured heavy layers and face-framing features to give a fluttery (butterfly) appearance.
The trend: Biohacking
Although we highlighted this last year, people are still getting to grips with the idea that you can take health into your own hands with DIY biology of sorts. From meditation to IV drips, biohacking is set to reach its pinnacle next year and will be the word on the street as the answer to better health, youthful skin, and a stronger sense of well-being.
The trend: Balletcore Beauty
Think ribbons, buns, chignons, braids, and delicate accents of pale pink that make this look a wearable trend from the catwalk to the high street.
Expect ribbons to be the standout piece that you’ll be sporting from office to party – thank you, Sarah Jessica Parker!
The trend: Men’s Beauty
Traditional notions of masculinity have changed and so inclusivity is now key in men’s beauty. This is more than grooming but a whole new sector in shifting traditional attitudes to men wearing makeup or confidentially using and sharing their skincare regimes. With the influence of celebrities, we will be seeing much more of not only genderless beauty but men’s beauty on a whole different level. Great news for couples who like to share!
The trend: Ombré Lips
Already trending on TikTok this darkly lined pout is going nowhere fast. A nod to the 90s with two different shades on the upper and lower lip, before defining with a lip liner in a contrasting shade.
There’s a lot to consider but use the right finish and the colours can blend into a beautiful picture.
The trend: Draw the Line
Think graphic liners and high precision. Start practising now as shaky hands are a big no-no. Sharp-winged liners and bold cat-eyes are the way forward. Experiment with colour to give the look a contemporary feel. Helmut Lang S/S models is all the inspo you need. To reach out to beauty influencers click here
