The UK’s Top Gastropubs Have Just Been Announced

It might still be Dry January, but one of our favourite places to hang out on a Sunday remains the humble gastropub. And this year’s list of the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK has just been announced, so if you’re on the lookout for a new spot to try, consider this your head start, with over 12 London gastropubs making the cut…
1. The Devonshire
Soho, Central London
While The Devonshire is consistently one of London’s busiest spots, and it’s no surprise that it ranks highly on this list every year, the gastro has bumped the Unruly Pig swiftly off its first place throne. Whether you’re a meat-eater or a Guinness drinker. Downstairs sees patrons spilling out onto the street near Piccadilly Circus throughout the week, whereas upstairs plays home to an exclusive restaurant that’s almost as difficult to get a reservation at as securing Glastonbury tickets.

2. The Unruly Pig
Woodbridge, Suffolk
The Unruly Pig made our list of the best foodie staycation spots in the UK, and with good reason. The Suffolk haunt has held a top spot on the Top Gastropubs list for yet another year, sourcing 70% of its ingredients locally, ensuring the menu changes seasonally and honours the region.

4. The Woolpack Inn
Slad, Gloucestershire
The Woolpack is a charming, rural, 300 year old pub. The ideal destination for a fireside meal with local beers and a bit of a secluded feel; like you’ve finally traded the city for a local life by the village church. The menu features local produce and the most traditional of British pub food.

5. The Star Inn At Harome
Harome, North Yorkshire
From the outside, this thatched-roof pub looks like any other you might expect to see driving through the countryside, but inside, you’ll find a Michelin-starred restaurant with a seasonally inspired menu and plenty of history.
