The Nostalgic Haircut Every Cool Girl’s Asking For

Every now and then, a hairstyle comes around and absolutely dominates the style set. From the wolf cut to the bixie style currently spotted across Hollywood A-listers, the fashion girls are going for a slightly different hair salon request: the butterfly cut.
What is the butterfly cut?
A little bit 90s and incredibly ‘expensive-looking’, the butterfly cut consists of short, face-framing layers which cascade down and blend outward to create the butterfly shape. Unlike the wolf cut, which has a distinctly rough, textured finish created by choppy layers, this is like the more polished older sister. Layers are swoopy and smooth, creating plenty of volume and movement throughout the strands.
Think of the butterfly cut at the wolf cut’s grown up, older sister who has a Third Space membership and lives in cashmere come winter.
