From Street Parties To Coronation Cruises: 25 Coronation Events To Book

The King’s Coronation is around the corner and festivities are ramping up. Whether you’re looking for a street party to join, a trifle to try or a ball to attend, we’ve rounded up the very best Coronation events taking place this May.
If you don’t have a ticket to the official concert or you don’t fancy queuing for hours to catch the procession in person, there are plenty of other events to look forward to this May. The best coronation events happening in London
King’s Coronation Party, Battersea Power Station
There’s plenty of fun to be had at Battersea Power Station’s Coronation Party. There’ll be giant screens streaming the service and procession, live music and performances – think Elton John and Spice Girls tribute acts – and street food vendors on hand to make the weekend one to remember.
For the little princes and princesses, there’ll be face painting, balloon artists and bubbles along the Riverwalk. Plus, look forward to exclusive offers from the neighbourhood’s brands, restaurants and shops.

Crown Decorating, Tower Bridge
One for the little ones, get into the coronation spirit and let your imagination loose at this crown-making workshop. Kids are invited to make their own crown complete with gold and slider borders, cotton wool for ermine and stick-on jewels.
Or, head over to the Engine Rooms at Tower Bridge for a no-sew royal sash workshop that’ll see you get colourful and creative with ribbons and stickers.

Kings & Queens, London Cabaret Club
Never a venue to hold back, the London Cabaret Club has announced a series of special shows in the lead-up to the coronation of King Charles III, but our favourite is the highly anticipated ‘Kings & Queens’.
Specially curated for this historic event, you’re invited on an action-packed tour across the British Isles and the many monarchs who have ruled over history. From Henry VIII to Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria to King George V and Queen Elizabeth II, expect a giant explosion of choreographed dance routines featuring West End stars and culinary delights inspired by key moments in history.

‘Best of British’ After Party at GŎNG Bar
Marking the occasion of a lifetime for many, Shangri-La The Shard, London has created a royal array of celebrations to toast to His Majesty The King in style. There’ll be a royal after party at GŎNG Bar, complete with a DJ pumping out pop royalty hits from the likes of Queen, The Spice Girls and David Bowie. There’ll be a few menu specials through in too.
Over at Bar 31, look forward to a street party to remember complete with Pimm’s, sharing platters and on-street entertainment.
Coronation Cruises, City Experiences
Fancy cruising around London? Do it in style and book in for one of City Experiences’ coronation-themed cruises. Perfect for visitors and hardened Londoners alike, you’ll be able to zip along the Thames catching all of the city’s iconic sights, from Big Ben to the London Eye. The cruises will be dressed to impress too complete with bunting and union jacks.
Coronation Bus Tour, B Bakery
Renowned for their afternoon tea bus tours, B Bakery is partnering with Majesty Magazine, The Royal Butler and Talking Tables to curate a regency-themed tea.
Expect the bus to be coronation themed, complete with flags and crowns, while you can tuck into a delicious menu from The Royal Butler. Think miniature sandwiches, royal chocolate biscuits, plum frangipane and white chocolate earl grey macarons.
Mayfair Coronation Party, Grosvenor Square
For the ultimate garden party, it’s got to be Grosvenor Square. The free coronation party will be taking place across the weekend, and there’s plenty of free entertainment to get involved in.
Pitch up and grab a deckchair to watch the King’s Coronation on a big screen, refuel with ice cream from the Connaught Patisserie and make the most of the floral installations taking over the neighbourhood.
Regal Concert at 116 Pall Mall
Over at 116 Pall Mall, there will be an exclusive concert with the esteemed London Chamber Orchestra paired with a regal-inspired afternoon tea. Led by composer and vocalist Aga Serugo-Lugo, the evening will be inspired by the new King’s favourite pieces.
Searcys will be hosting several other events too, from Coronation afternoon teas at the Gherkin to Champagne masterclasses.
Covent Garden Festivities

Covent Garden’s Market Building has undergone a coronation themed transformation with every ounce of the ceiling decked out with union jacks. Throughout May you can look forward to themed dining and experiences celebrating British heritage, including the East Piazza’s Crown Jewels Garden pop-up. Popping up until 14th May, you can sip on British beers, gins and ciders and indulge on food fit for a king.
Coronation Afternoon Tea at The Montague on the Gardens
Join The Montague on the Gardens as they welcome His Majesty King Charles III in the most traditional fashion: an afternoon tea! Complete with sweets and sticky treats including a royal chocolate cake, themed cocktails and cream-laden scones, this is one to remember.
On 6th and 7th, there’ll be a street party too! Each party can enjoy two hours of unlimited cocktails, bottled beer or soft drinks, as well as al fresco seating, live music and surf-and-turf BBQ.

You can always count on London’s top restaurants to go all out on special occasions and the upcoming coronation is no exception. Expect the city’s hospitality scene to become awash with royal installations, crown-themed desserts and cocktails even King Charles III will approve of. The King’s Coronation Seven-Course Dinner at The Rubens at the Palace
The Rubens at the Palace is going to town this coronation – complete with everything including royal-afternoon tea, Champagne dinners, street parties and takeaway options.
Celebrate early with The Curry Room’s Coronation Seven-Course Dinner on Thursday 4th, where you can enjoy twists Indian dishes to commemorate the occasion. Menu highlights include tandoori chaat; lobster bahar; kashmiri osso buco; and a gulab jumin, a pistachio & rose crumble served with saffron syrup and vanilla custard.
Or, opt for the Lanson Champagne Dinner at The English Grill where you can enjoy seven-courses celebrating British produce and a Lanson Champagne pairing.

Festivities at Puttshack
Expect a ‘hole’ lot of fun at Puttshack this Coronation weekend. Head over this weekend and enter for your chance to win a round of mini-golf for five friends and £200 to spend on food and drinks thanks to their King and Queens competition. Everyone who plays over the King’s Coronation Weekend will compete for the top score on the leaderboard, and the reigning royal high scorer at the end of the long weekend will be crowned winner at each Puttshack location.
Oxford Street Festivities, Across Oxford Street
From crown-making to coronation concerts, Oxford Street is pulling out all the stops this May. Alongside all of the union jack bunting, there’ll be three giant crowns taking over the street too.
There’s an event for every occasion, whether you fancy a spot of mini golf at Swingers or family-fun at Twist Museum.
King Charles III’s Coronation Ball, The Ritz London

From champagne receptioins to exclusive big band performances, The Ritz is putting on quite the show. On Saturday 6th May, the iconic Piccadilly hotel will be throwing the city’s most anticipated ball.
The night will begin with a champagne and canapé reception in the Palm Court with music from a string quartet. Followed by a five-course dinner with matching wines in the Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant created by executive chef John Williams MBE. The dinner will be accompanied by a performance from the London Dance Orchestra with Georgia.
Later in the evening expect an exclusive performance from The BBC Big Band and a dancefloor ball.
5 Coronation Screenings To Know
Venues and landmark sites across the UK will be covering the coronation with special screenings. These are five spots to know:
Hyde Park
Hyde Park will be welcoming four giant screens across the park with the site opening from 5am for eager fans to head down and get a good spot.
Grosvenor Square
Alongside all of the Garden Party action in Mayfair, there’ll be a giant screen in Grosvenor Square. Grab a drink and some food from their pop-up local street vendors and see this historic moment amongst the crowds.
Hampton Court Palace
Exclusively for locals, visitors are invited to mark the historic occasion at Hampton Court Palace with an intimate screening of the coronation in the gardens.
St Cuthbert’s Church, Earl’s Court
Imagine as if you’re sitting inside Westminister Abbey and reserve your spot at St Cuthbert’s Church’s special big screen event.
Battersea Power Station
Going hand-in-hand with their festivities, Battersea Power Station will be screening the coronation serve and procession on giant screens.

Picnics & Masterclasses at Heckfield Place

For a countryside affair, look to Heckfield Place’s quintessentially British experiences. Head over during the May bank holiday weekend and you can look forward to wild water swimming, al fresco picnic lunches in the grounds, cocktail masterclasses and pretty floral arrangements.
Festivities begin on Friday with Home Farm’s head grower Jane Scotter hosting a biodynamic walk and talk through the gardens where you can learn about the practicalities and principles of biodynamic farming.
On Saturday there’ll be a special screening of the coronation, along with a flower crown masterclass led by the estate’s resident florist April Rose and a pop-up bar by the lake. Come Sunday there’ll be wild swimming and picnic hampers available complete with handmade delicacies from executive chef Michael Chapman and his team. Plus a cocktail masterclass in the afternoon hosted by house and bars manager River Wood.

Coronation Evensong at Canterbury Cathedral
Over at Canterbury Cathedral, there will be various goings on over the bank holiday weekend including a special Evensong service celebrating the coronation of King Charles III.
Other events include a Friendly Coronation Prom with the Central Band of the Royal British Legion on Friday 5th; Coronation live screening on Saturday 6th; a ‘Ring for the King’ Beel Peal on Saturday 6th; Big Coronation Lunch on Sunday 7th; and ‘Reflections on the Coronation’, an in-conversation with the Archbishop of Canterbury on Sunday 7th.

Live Screenings at Eden Project
From talks and music to live broadcasts of the ceremony, the Eden Product in Cornwall is celebrating in full force. Across the weekend they will be offering free entry for anyone 25 and under.
Full details of their events are yet to be confirmed but we can already tell this is going to be a fun one for locals and visitors alike.

Coronation Concert, Windsor
We couldn’t do an events round-up without including the highly-anticipated Coronation Concert taking over Windsor Castle on Sunday 7th May. Confirmed performers include Katy Perry, Take That, Lionel Ritchie, Freya Ridings and the Coronation Choir.
Wondering how you can attend? A national ballot held by the BBC will see members of the public selected to receive a pair of free tickets. Details for this are yet to be announced but keep checking the official Royal website for the latest announcements.
