Always dreamt of becoming a Grammy Award-Winning musician? You’ll be able to live out your rock ‘n’ roll dreams thanks to the arrival of a brand new mini-series centred around life as a rockstar…
The best-selling novel Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is currently being made into an Amazon Prime miniseries starring Riley Keough (The Girlfriend Experience), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games), and Suki Waterhouse (Love, Rosie). If you’re missing the magical music of the 70’s this Rumours (Fleetwood Mac) inspired novel-turned-series is for you.
Sex, drugs, and rock and roll—Daisy Jones & the Six has it all. This series will follow the gripping novel’s storyline. Expect to follow a fictional 1970’s rock band at the rise and fall of their career. Daisy Jones is a voracious singer looking to make it big in LA. When her talent begins to be recognised at the same time a new band begins to be noticed, what happens when a producer realises the key to their success is to put them together?
As well as acting, the stars of the show have taken up playing their own instruments for the show AND Blake Mills, a song-writing collaborator for Lana Del Rey is writing all the original music for the soundtrack. Attempting to be as accurate to the time period as possible, the show has enlisted the help of Denise Wingate, who toured with The Bangles, for costume design.
Avid reader, Reese Witherspoon has come on as the show’s executive producer, aiding director Niki Caro in making the show as true to the novel as possible.
Fans of the book are waiting with baited breath for this series and we can’t wait to see how the actors bring their favourite characters to life.
The Amazon Prime original is set to release on 3 March of 2023.
