Stick to these recipes and you guarantee they’ll always taste good.

The Immune Booster

This carrot and ginger winner is packed full of vitamin A and beta carotene from the carrots, which can cleanse and restore the liver. While the addition of citrus fruits gives it a healthy dose of vitamin C.

What to blitz:

  • 5 large carrots
  • 1 romaine lettuce heart
  • 2  oranges, peeled
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1-inch of fresh ginger

The Anti-Inflammatory Juice

The term “superfood” is knocked about way too much, but turmeric truly deserves the accolade. The spice is a powerful anti-inflammatory, helping everything from inflamed sports injuries to arthritis and can also help reduce the symptoms of IBS. Top tip: when using turmeric make sure you add black pepper as this allows the body to absorb it properly.

This failsafe recipe also contains beets that can help to improve blood flow, lower blood pressure, and, in turn, increase exercise performance. While the blood orange contains plenty of vitamin C, ideal for warding off coughs and colds, as well as anthocyanin, which again fights off free radicals and inflammation.

Warning: don’t spill it, turmeric and beets are notoriously difficult to get out.

What to blitz:

  • 1 medium beetroot, peeled and chopped
  • 3 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
  • flesh of 1  blood orange (use an orange if you can’t get hold of blood oranges)
  • juice of ½ a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 inch piece fresh ginger
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • pinch of freshly ground black pepper

The Protein-Packed Mylkshake

So tasty they shouldn’t be good for us, milky (or mylky if you’re using a dairy alternative), protein packed shakes are the perfect drink to refuel with post-workout.

We’re also a fan of them in the evening if you fancy something sweet and comforting but want to keep your sugar intake down.

Adding a scoop of peanut butter will not only enhance the taste but keep you fuller for longer, thanks to its unique combination of protein and fibre.

What to blitz:

  • 1 cup of milk or milk alternative
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon good quality peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 4 ice cubes

The Energy Booster

Add this into your morning routine to start the day right and add a boost of energy to those 6am wake up calls. Containing the wellness warrior’s juice of choice, celery (check out the hashtag #celeryjuice for a mind-blowing amount of content), it holds a bounty of benefits, from lowering cholesterol to giving you glowing skin. Add to that vitamin B6, vitamin K, vitamin C, folate and potassium and you’ll be buzzing by the time you’ve left the house, without a coffee bean in sight.

What to blitz:

  • 1 medium beetroot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 large red apple
  • a few stalks of celery
  • juice of one whole lime

The Green Machine

Juicing is a quick and easy way to up your five- or 10-a-day (depending on what you deem appropriate) fruit and veg count, especially when it comes to leafy greens. We’re talking spinach, kale, cavolo nero, chard and the like – anything packed full of iron, folate, vitamin A, calcium and vitamin C.

A green juice might not sound like the nicest way you want to start your day, but you do genuinely adapt to the taste and a squeeze of citrus fruit and a hint of apple can make it all the more palatable.

What to blitz:

  • 1 cucumber, chopped
  • 1/2 a head celery, chopped
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • 1/2 bundle organic kale or big handful of spinach
  • 1  green apple
  • 3-inch piece ginger, peeled and chopped
  • juice of 1 lemon
