They might look pretty revolting when mashed to a pulp, but leafy greens contain plenty of fibre and vitamins. They help with digestion and provide lots of vital nutrients, such as vitamin C, iron and folic acid – all of which support the immune system.

Veggies also have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties – basically they’re pretty darn good for you. Toss in some kale, spinach or cabbage and you have something pretty wholesome.

Chuck in:

1 handful of spring greens
1 handful of kale
1 banana
1 pear
1 handful of blueberries
Top with unsweetened almond milk

1 cup apricots
1/2 cup mango sorbet
A dash of lime juice

Calcium Blaster

With everyone substituting milk for other alternatives, it’s important to build up bone strength with food rich in calcium. Magnesium (found in things like flax seeds) is great for supporting muscle and nerve function and energy production, too.

Try mixing together foods rich in these nutrients and you’ll be left feeling energised and just a little bit smug.

Chuck in:

1 handful of kale
1 pitted peach
1 banana
1 handful of strawberries
1 tablespoon flax seeds
1 tablespoon of goji berries
Top with oat milk
