The Luxury Shopping Destination You Might Not Have Heard Of (But Need To)

We love a well-kept London secret here at The Handbook. And those of our readers residing in South London are likely more than familiar with one of the best places to visit for luxe fashion and beauty: Elys Wimbledon.
In Partnership With Elys Wimbledon
Why it’s a must-visit
Opening back in 1876, Elys Wimbledon is an institution that’s been around for over a century, refining its retail offering to include some of the biggest designer names and It-pieces, minus the madness of somewhere like Oxford Street. Plus, there are plenty of in-store activations for you to enjoy while you recharge (or to leave non-shopping partners at…).
For the fashion folks…
Fashion savants will recognise the likes of Scandi brands Samsøe Samsøe and Baum und Pferdgarten, along with French girl-approved, ba&sh. There’s also a tasteful injection of high street heroes from Free People, Reiss, Mango, and Mint Velvet.
For designer investment pieces, you’re spoilt for choice with accessories from Gucci, Chanel, Burberry, Longchamp, and MiuMiu. As for jewellery, Alex Munroe and Astley Clarke are must-visit counters.

Beauty buffs won’t want to miss…
The beauty department is equally well stocked, boasting all the biggest, cult-status names. For skincare, there’s La Mer, Clinique and Dermalogica, alongside an extensive list of luxe makeup names including NARS, Bobbi Brown, Hourglass, Tom Ford, and more. Take a break and recharge on your visit with a booking at Gina Conway’s Salon & Spa, or opt for a fresh manicure at Londora Nail Boutique.

If you’re looking for a place to rest your feet mid-shop, check out the in-store nail and blow dry bars on the ground floor.
How to get there
Located in Wimbledon (16 St. George’s Road, Wimbledon, SW19 4DP), the best way to get to Elys from Central London is to take either the train from Waterloo to Wimbledon, or the District Line to Wimbledon.
Alternatively, if you’re driving, the closest car park is located on Saint George’s Road Car Park – a 1-minute walk from the store.
