Christmas might be just around the corner, but we can’t not mention Thanksgiving, the American holiday that’s wormed its way over the pond to London. Whether you’re an American who has flown the nest and settled here in the UK or you just fancy a piece of the pie, we’ve rounded up our favourite restaurants serving up a Thanksgiving feast. 

This year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday 25th November – so book in for tonight now to avoid disappoint! 

Galvin Bar & Grill

The newly unveiled Galvin Bar & Grill, located inside Kimpton Fitzroy London, will be flying the American flag this Thanksgiving and putting on quite the feasting banquet. Taking place in the ornate dining room, head chef Adam Gray has curated a menu that champions some of Britain’s best seasonal produce, all spruced up with an all-American twist. 

There’ll be pumpkin soup served with grilled ceps, Spenwood cheese and cornbread; and roast Mywood Farm free-range turkey accompanied by sweet potato gratin, maple-glazed bacon and cranberries. The evening will finish with a show-stopping pecan pie, a must for any Thanksgiving goer.

Sea Containers Restaurant

Tuck into a mouthwatering three-course sharing menu this Thanksgiving at Sea Containers Restaurant. The riverside restaurant, overlooking The Thames, will be whipping up a true feast. 

Americans and other locals wanting a bite of the action can expect to be diving into a menu of roast Norfolk turkey with all of the trimmings, cured duck with roasted beetroot and a finishing pud of Hawaiian sweet potato pie with coconut ice cream. 

£5 from each Thanksgiving menu will be donated to The Felix Project to help vulnerable people suffering with food poverty in London.

The Northall 

Chef André Garret will be preparing all of his all time favourites this Thanksgiving. The menu, available on Thursday 25th November, will feature the likes of warm oyster Rockefeller; roasted squash soup with chestnut, sweet onion and fregola; and a free-range turkey with sage and citrus stuffing and roasting jus. 

No Thanksgiving feast is complete without a pumpkin pie and this one will be served with spiced custard – yum.

108 Brasserie

108 Brasserie’s Thanksgiving feast is a sight to behold. Creating an autumnal cosy canvas, the restaurant is perfect for counting those blessings this 25th November. 

The culinary team have recreated traditional dishes, from roasted sweet potato soup with toasted pecans and maple glaze; roast Caldecott Farm bronze turkey with stove top stuffing, bourbon sweet potato mash, creamed corn, green beans, pigs in blankets and cranberry stuffing; and a pumpkin pie served with bourbon chantilly cream for an extra kick. Vegetarians can also tuck into the feast and delight on a wild mushroom and Monterey Jack wellington with glazed carrots and cep cream.

The Game Bird at The Stafford

British restaurant, The Game Bird, will be switching things up this Thanksgiving and will serve up one of the best feasts London has to offer. To start, there’ll be a fully-loaded sweet potato soup topped with crispy bacon, rye croutons and sour cream helping to add a bit of crunch and texture. 

The main event will of course be turkey. This one will be maple-glazed and served with all of your favourite Thanksgiving trimmings including caramelised onions, roasted squash, creamed sprouts, garlic mash and green beans casserole. For pud, there’ll be a pumpkin pie encased in an oat and pecan crust, served with buttermilk ice cream to finish.

The Athenaeum

Taking place on Thanksgiving night, Americans living in London can rejoice knowing that all of their traditions and needs will be catered for at The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences. Give thanks with a feast designed by executive chef Ian Howard. It’s bursting with the likes of a warming crab and sweetcorn chowder, followed by bronze Norfolk turkey that’s been stuffed and succulently roasted with all of the usual trimmings. The crowd pleaser will be a hearty blueberry pie topped with lemon verbena chantilly.  

The good times don’t stop there, book an overnight stay 14 days in advance and enjoy a 15% discount to sleep off the feast.

The Milestone Hotel

Express gratitude this Thanksgiving with a backdrop of The Milestone Hotel’s Cheneston’s Restaurant. The Kensington hotel will be serving up a feast with all of the trimmings, from sweetcorn chowder to traditional turkey. And healthy helpings of pecan pie; spiced pumpkin cheesecake; or even a caramelised apple tartlet for something a little different.
