June in London hospitality is less “quiet start to summer” and more “everyone suddenly opens a rooftop with frozen margaritas at the exact same time”. This month brings handroll bars, slice shops, ambitious Mayfair dining rooms, bakery expansions, and at least three places promising to become your “new neighbourhood spot”. Here’s what’s actually worth knowing about.

Dallas

Lisbon’s cult burger joint has made its international debut in Shoreditch this June, bringing its much-loved grass-fed burgers to London for the first time. Founded by hospitality group Vida Plena, Dallas has built a loyal following across Portugal with a simple formula: quality ingredients, a lively atmosphere and seriously good burgers.

The menu centres around 165g patties made from a blend of three premium cuts of 100% grass-fed British beef sourced from Royal Warrant holder Aubrey Allen. Signature burgers include the Classic Cheeseburger, the Truffle Mushroom and the seasonal Italian Summer, while vegan patties are available across the menu. Drinks spotlight independent producers including Deya, Agua de Madre and RedFin Cider, reinforcing the restaurant’s commitment to quality and local partnerships.

Café Clement

One of June’s most anticipated openings comes from Soho House founder Nick Jones and chef Danny Bohan, whose CV includes 12 years as Head Chef at The River Café. Open from breakfast through to late evening, Café Clement is an all-day neighbourhood restaurant with a menu shaped by more than two decades of cooking alongside some of Britain’s most influential chefs, including Rowley Leigh, Rose Gray and Ruthie Rogers.

With a south-facing terrace overlooking the garden square, it’s set to become one of the season’s go-to spots for everything from morning coffee to long summer dinners.

Temaki

Opening 1 June on Maddox Street, Temaki is leaning further into Californian-Japanese small plates alongside its signature handrolls. Expect crispy rice topped with premium fish, A4 wagyu sliders, toro, sandos, saké and a listening-bar-inspired downstairs space.

Appalachia

Appalachia is taking over the former Counter 71 site in Shoreditch with a menu inspired by the mountainous Appalachian region of the US. Leading the kitchen is former Smoking Goat chef Alistair Borer, whose fire-led cooking will shape dishes like smoked eel devilled eggs, BBQ quail with blue cheese slaw and country-fried rabbit with chorizo gravy.

The drinks programme comes from former Three Sheets Soho bartender Fraser Stancombe, with cocktails including a Banana Pudding Sazerac and Kentucky 75, while the intimate counter dining format remains firmly intact. A very exciting new chapter for one of Shoreditch’s best restaurant spaces.

Chez Rose

After opening the very serious and very expensive Row on 5 together, Spencer Metzger and Jason Atherton are pivoting into classic French bistro territory with Chez Rose, taking over the former Little Social space in Mayfair. Expect Comté gougères with lardo, steak tartare, poulet en cocotte, Sunday roasts and îles flottantes — aka exactly the sort of menu designed to make you order an irresponsible amount of wine on a Tuesday.

Brutes of Mayfair

Mayfair’s newest opening is devoted entirely to martinis. From former JKS Restaurants drinks experts James Stevenson and Guy Mazuch, Brutes pairs customisable martinis — complete with blue cheese olives and Pickled Onion Monster Munch garnishes — with caviar crisps, French dip sandwiches and slick mid-century interiors. Equal parts serious cocktail bar and playful late-night haunt, it’s already shaping up to be one of the summer’s hottest bookings.

LARDON

Again, not London, but relevant if your social circle has started using the phrase “weekending”. Wood-fired European small plates inspired by Tuscany, Provence and the Basque Country, complete with terrace DJs and a Peter Rabbit-themed children’s area. The Cotswolds lifestyle-industrial complex continues.

Rosina

Adam Byatt’s first neighbourhood project in over a decade — and his first proper Italian restaurant — opens this month. Named after his daughter Rosie, Rosina promises elegant regional Italian cooking, excellent produce and the sort of terrace that will immediately become impossible to book in warm weather.

When: 29 june
Where: 35 Bellevue Rd, London SW17 7EF

The George

Not technically London, but spiritually very “people leaving London for the weekend”. A beautifully restored countryside pub serving elevated British classics, crab doughnuts, pork tomahawks and deeply serious roast potatoes. Worth the train journey purely for the firepit garden situation.

Dante Mayfair

After a successful residency, New York institution Dante is permanently taking over Claridge’s restaurant space. Expect martinis, shrimp cocktail, chicken alla diavola and enough Manhattan energy to briefly convince you you’re the sort of person who orders “a dirty vodka martini, extra cold” on a Tuesday afternoon.

When: mid June
Where: Claridge’s, Brook Street, Mayfair, London W1K 4HR
Website: www.maybourne.com

Latine

French technique meets Latin American flavours at this ambitious Lancashire Court opening from chef Francisco Lafee. There’s ceviche, tiraditos, beurre blanc with ají amarillo and a downstairs late-night cocktail space called LACAV.

When: June
Where: 10-11 Lancashire Court, Mayfair, London
Website: www.latinemayfair.com

Carmy’s

London’s ongoing obsession with New York-style slice shops continues with Carmy’s, the new opening from the team behind Carmela’s. The menu is intentionally tiny — just cheese, pepperoni and a rotating special — with the focus firmly on speed, consistency and extremely good slices. Given how good Carmela’s was, this already feels destined to become a place where people casually queue for pizza at 2pm on a Wednesday.

When: june
Where: 1 Monmouth St, London WC2H 9DA
Website: www.carmys.co.uk
