Following its popular adaptations of Harlan Coben’s novels Fool Me Once and Missing You, Netflix is bringing its next project from the bestselling author, I Will Find You. Based on the novel of the same name, it follows a man who is put in prison for a terrible crime that he did not commit.

Starring Sam Worthington (Avatar: The Way of the Water) and Britt Lower (Severance), it’s set to release next year – here’s all we know:

What is I Will Find You about?

In I Will Find You, we’re introduced to David Burrows – played by Avatar star Sam Worthington– a father who finds himself in a harrowing, nightmareish situation: his son is found dead, and David himself is accused of murdering him. He is tried, convicted and sentenced for a crime he didn’t commit, and forced to spend a life sentence in prison. He blames himself for the loss despite knowing of his innocence, and resigns himself to living life behind bars. However, out of the blue, he is contacted with information that not only could prove he’s not guilty, but also indicates that his son may still be alive, after all.

Severance breakout star Britt Lower plays Rachel Mills, who is David’s ex sister-in-law, and once a respected journalist. Having been fired years ago and losing much of what she treasured in life, she discovers the news that David’s son may really be alive, and she believes it could get her career back on track. As David embarks on clearing his name and finding out whether his son is truly still alive, he begins to question how much has been hidden from him. Even if he can regain his freedom, can he trust anyone anymore?

Who else stars, and is there a release date?

Meanwhile, other notable cast members include Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), who plays Rachel’s ex-boyfriend. Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies) and Logan Browning (The Perfection) play FBI agents Max Williams and Sarah Greer, while Erin Richards (The Crown) plays the ex-wife of David, Cheryl.

I Will Find You is currently in full production with a release date set for 2026, and while there’s no trailer yet, Netflix has released some first-look behind-the-scenes images.
