How To Style A Hoodie This Season
It’s an exciting moment when a wardrobe basic becomes a fashion hit. It levels the playing field in the style stakes; this piece isn’t scary or over the top, it’s inclusive, wearable and accessible. Now obviously we all know how to throw on a sweatshirt, but here’s how to style a hoodie like you’ve just stepped off a catwalk….
The humble hoodie was a runway success with Miu Miu catapulting the slouchy number to the top of our AW23 wishlists. Pairing a grey hoodie with oversized blazers, luxe peacoats and even sequin knickers, we took note, but it wasn’t the only label to endorse the loungewear piece. Marni, Burberry Gucci, Loewe, Saint Laurent… the list goes on, have all included a hooded sweatshirt within their collections. Grey is the colour of choice, but certainly not exclusive, and slogans are a go, thanks to the cool girl brand, Anine Bing.
Effortless chic is the sartorial guideline; the ‘I just popped this on’ stance is the approach. There’s definitely an art to looking beautifully dishevelled and we’re ready to give it a go, especially if comfort plays a part. The key is to add an element of class or smartness. For instance, if wearing with jeans, slip on a pair of heels or add a designer bag. Alternatively, team with a skirt or tailoring, such as a blazer, wide-leg trousers or a trench coat. Simply put, the sharper lines balance out the softness and casual element of the hoodie, making this look the catwalk success it is today.

Outfit 3 – the off duty hoodie
Worn with tracksuit bottoms is the obvious off-duty look, but for that fashion twist, throw on your leathers, wide leg jeans and cap. Influencer Agnes Pusztai aka @whatgigiwears is an expert in laissez-faire chic.
