When colour experts PANTONE drop their Colour of the Year, the interiors and fashion world goes wild. Well, this January they have joined forces with high street behemoth H&M to bring home and design fans an affordable slice of PANTONE magic.

Launching in select stores and online from January 26th, the H&M HOME 🖤 PANTONE collection brings together the colour authority’s iconic language of shade with H&M’s affordable, crowd-pleasing homeware – I mean, who doesn’t love a H&M home buy? In the H&M collaboration expect to see velvety soft cushion covers, sculptural vases, statement-making trays and, what we predict is going to be the biggest seller, PANTONE branded candles.

Colour is a powerful tool. It connects to our senses profoundly and can make us experience the world around us in a new way.

The collection is split into two colourways and in true PANTONE style they’ve been given evocative names – the Calm & Soothing collection and the Energy & Joy – representing how colour can be such a powerful tool and something that connects our senses to the world around us. And no more so than in our own homes. As Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, Head of Design & Creative at H&M HOME puts it, “Colour is essential for both our home and our senses. No one understands this better than PANTONE, who are the foremost experts on how colour can influence how we work and live.”

In the Energy & Joy collection expect vibrant colours of pink, red, orange and apricot that will bring a vibrancy and subtle heat to a room. We particularly love the pedestal-shaped Stoneware Bowl in joyful apricot – we love it topped with some simple floral stems on the kitchen counter or simply left to sing on its own on a console, side table or shelf.

On the flip side, there is the Calm & Soothing range which evokes scenes of the sea and the majestic forest. There’s a calming blue that works so well in the velvety cotton cushion cover – blue is one of 2023’s biggest interiors trends. Whilst the soothing rich green shade looks chic in the PANTONE branded tray – ideal for housing candles, books or trinkets on top of a coffee table or ottoman.

Finally, the collection also comprises candles, bringing together the beauty of colour with the pleasure of scent. Inspired by the colourways themselves, the candles are intended to smell like their shade. Expect a red candle to bring warm shades of plum to a room or a pale green to add the freshness of eucalyptus.

One to add to basket when you’re next on a H&M haul.
