Let’s face it, most of us go skiing for the après-ski… don’t shake your head, you’re just in denial! So, how about heading out on the piste for something far, far superior? Something which, in fact, will make après seem boring! Ski festivals are the answer; music-laden luxuries that will have you on a slippery slope to ski-hols debauchery. Not only that, they’ve got banging line-ups and if you don’t like the act, you can throw snowballs – so everyone’s a winner?! Luckily, you’re not treading on thin ice when it comes to festival options, and we’ve rounded up some of the best. Typically known as the name behind the electronic dance music festival held in Boom, Belgium, Tomorrowland has built quite the name for itself, and it migrates for some winter action, to the French Alps! Visitors can choose between a seven or four day experience, with all packages including a Tomorrowland ticket, lodging and a lift and ski pass.

The performers are scattered around slopes, on flat ground and in obscure spots, with belting music that’ll help you slide down those slopes quicker than Bode Miller.

Pump up that volume, there’s snow going home at Snowboxx in Avoriaz. The fest features a mountain-side main stage with an awesome array of famous names at the helm. Whether you’ve rolled on down a red, or blatted down a black (or baby slope – you amateur!), Snowboxx is a renowned ski festival and definitely one of the best. So if you’re ready for things to get absolutely crazy then that’s music to our ears; enjoy igloos, ice caves and slopes in true skiier form.

Rise to the challenge and party on top of the word at this one; a snow-sports, music and wellbeing festival that’s back and ready for year five! Rise has won critical acclaim for being a snow fest like no other, with a white powered playground that will provide the perfect respite post-ski. Taking place in Les Deux Alpes, voted one of Europe’s top three ski resorts this year, the festival will get you geared up for Christmas with its Alpine Stage lineup featuring Annie Mac and Camelphat.

There’s 15 stands on site to feed your hungry bellies after burning off the calories – hey, wha with all the skiing and dancing you’ll be doing you’ll be summer-bod ready in no time – the stalls will feat. bagels, tex-mex food, pancakes, burgers, fish’n chip plus bars, sweets stands and even shops for the fashionistas!

Polaris festival takes place at Le Mouton Noir ski resort, 2,200 meters up in the Alps and with techno beats galore and the best DJs around. If you’re a lover of electronic music then this festival is, by far, the one for you.
