5pm has tolled on a work-fuelled week-day, you’ve got your trainers in your rucksack, and that planned run is on the horizon, BUT what you’d really like to do is tuck into a good Netflix Series with a snack of choice on the sofa, and drift off to sleep around 9.
Well, we’re here to provide you with a bubble-filled, colour washed, beer-infused list of fun runs you could be taking part in across London, to take the pressure off that post-work commitment… (slightly!).
Ready, set, fun run!
Bubble Rush is a 5k event that swarms you in bubbles at the start and across four bubble stations. If the thought of running through bubbles makes running seem that little bit harder, fear not – it’s actually incredibly good fun.The family friendly event is also for a great cause, raising money and awareness for the work of local hospices. So, we don’t want to burst your no running bubble but… you have to give this a try!
The event will take place on 15th July.
Big Fun Run
Taking place on 28th October, the Big Fun Run is an untimed 5k charity event that champions getting involved and getting the running shoes on. There’s no pressure, it’s no Ironman triathlon don’t worry, and anyone can take part!
Ever had an urge to just roll about in mud? No, just us? Well how about giving it a go at Pretty Muddy, a 10k obstacle course filled to the rafters with mud, mud and…yep, you guessed it, more mud! It’s all in the name at this event, which will take place on 30th June, with mud pits galore, in a bid to beat cancer.
Pretty Muddy is in support of Cancer Research.
The Color Run
Known as the happiest 5k on the planet, the color run is the incredibly popular (and colourful) event that see’s Instagram going wild…
The run is in support of healthiness, happiness and individuality, and includes getting covered from head to toe in a rainbow of colours at 4 Color Zones and the brand new FOAM ZONE around the course. This year’s Color Run will take place on 8th July at Wembley Park.
Lily Beer Run
We love beer, but placed in a name alongside the word run sounds rather ominous. Not to fear though – how does a scavenger hunt in a secret location sound? The Lily Beer run combines fitness with beer, whilst looking for clues in a cool scavenger hunt in some of London’s coolest places. The event is for a great cause, as DeadDrop Running Events have teamed up with The Lily Foundation, to raise awareness for mitochondrial disease with this fantastic event.
The distance is 5km, and the event will take place on 13th July.
