As national celebrations go the royal wedding was just a practice run, bring on National Sandwich Week. Named, so legend has it, after the fourth Earl of Sandwich, the humble sandwich has come a long way since its aristocratic beginnings; it’s the country’s most eaten lunch, a national dish and an institution.
