As someone who won’t run for a London bus, I am in awe of anyone willing to put themselves through the torture and misery of training to run the London marathon. You guys deserve all the free stuff you can get your sweaty hands onto. Which is why we’ve helpfully compiled them all into a quick listicle.

Tom's Kitchen Chelsea

Tom’s Kitchen Canary Wharf may be pretty much on the marathon route, but it’s the Chelsea joint that’s offering runners a great giveaway in the form of a free breakfast the day AFTER the marathon. Anyone showing up with their finisher’s medal on Monday 29th April (between 0900 and 1100) can indulge in a Full English or Veggie Breakfast Board, all on the house. Granted, this excludes non-Londoners and anyone who works normal office hours, but nevertheless what an offer! This is basically the situation that the inventors of black pudding had in mind when they invented it.

Royal China

Get sum dim sum this marathon thanks to Royal China. The restaurant group has outlets in Dubai, China and Hong Kong, and now in London with a choice of eateries at Baker Street, Fulham, Harrow-on-the-Hill or Canary Wharf. Just flash your medal at the staff and treat yourself to a freebie bowl of sim dum.

MBNA Thames Clippers

Getting to and from the marathon just got boatier thanks to the MBNA Thames Clipper boat. The service is offering a third off travel to all marathon participants. It’s also great fo anyone egging on loved ones (or just egging hated ones) as the boat route allows you to jump on and off along parts of the marathon’s course. To get 1/3 off, just enter the code MARATHON19 when checking out on the website.

Marylebone Food Festival

Most marathon runners report an urge to go artisanal market browsing as they cross the finish line, or so the guys over at Marylebone Food Festival reckon. They aim to give ‘marathon runners and spectators plenty of things to do after the run’, and to be fair to them there really will be. The festival will offer festivalers special menus from Michelin restos like Roganic and Trishna as well as local places including Jikoni, The Providores and Chiltern Firehouse as well as newly launched Ooty plus Fischers, Blandford Comptoir, Daylesford Organic, Carousel and Twist among others.

Franco Manca

Franco Manca famously means ‘Franco isn’t here’, and the chances are that he’s not on the marathon either, most likely because he’s busy making free pizza for marathon runners. The restaurant chain are giving medallists any pizza from the menu on marathon day, just show them your bling and sit down and eat!

Mac & Wild Devonshire Square

Marathons are nothing compared with tossing cabers and hunting haggises, as anyone Scottish knows. But nevertheless, Mac & Wild have offered London marathon runners the chance for a free Wild Bowl at their Devonshire Square and Fitzrovia restaurants come Monday lunchtime. The bowls are filled with gains and greens and feature meaty (or vegany) toppings, the ideal day-after pick-me-up.

Boxpark Shoreditch

Boxpark are welcoming marathon finishers across the line with a free pint of beer! An ideal evening post-run has to be spent kicking back at one of Boxpark’s three venues, Wembley, Croydon and Shoreditch, and if you show your medal to staff you’ll be granted a free pint to start off celebrations.

Bunga Bunga

If there’s one thing we can’t imagine Silvio Burlesconi doing it’s running a marathon (vertically, at least), but regardless his namesake restaurant, Bunga Bunga, have decided to give away a whole pizza to marathon finishers, with the topping of their choice!
