The Most Popular Foodie Things That Happened in 2017

With a record breaking number of articles on The Handbook this year, we’ve had a look back over the past 12 months to see the top ten things that you’ve been reading and sharing the most this year!

London’s Most Instagrammable Restaurants

Everyone loves restaurants, everyone loves Instagram, so when we brought you London’s best #NoFilter restaurants, we knew you’d be loving it.

A Night Market Announced For London Food Month

In April you couldn’t get enough about the Night Market that launched for London Food Month that took place in June this year, good news is, it’s back for 2018.

Chess Club: Mayfair’s New Members’ Club

This year has been particularly busy for The Experimental Group, which opened Henrietta Hotel in Covent Garden and Mayfair members’ club, Chess Club. It’s got everything you’d expect from a members’ club, expect the fees. Ideal.

The Ned: 2017’s Biggest Opening

2017, the year of The Ned, Soho House’s new hotel with 9 restaurants and rooftop pool. It’s not surprising that you (and us) couldn’t get enough of it. Now to see if their next opening, Kettner Townhouse is just as big… we’re going to go out on a limb and say most likely.

6 of London’s Best 24 Hour Hangouts

With the arrival of the night tube last year, now we have even less reason to go home early, and even more reason to stay out all night. Seems like you agree with us too.

We sort of ruined the secret element of these hidden, underground venues…not so secret, but definitely popular.

19 of the Most Exciting Venues Set to Open in 2017

Of course, finding out in January where was set to open this year was obviously a great way to start the year, all the new places to eat, to get drunk at and to add to your bucket list. Our resolution was to try them all.

6 Igloos to Visit This Christmas

Only arriving at the tail end of the year, our guide to the best igloos was clearly a hit, as it went straight to the top of the class, proving just how popular it is to sit in an igloo in London – we have a feeling getting the perfect Christmas Instagram has a lot to do with it.

Lewisham’s New Restaurant: Sparrow

This year, husband and wife team, Terry Blake and Yohini Nandakumar opened Sparrow and when we announced it, it seemed as if Lewisham and then rest of London was more than just a little excited.
