The weekend has rolled around again, hurrah, and about time too! From a vegan fish and chip feast at by CHLOE’s that you batter try, to a festival of architecture and food, there’s loads on offer…
Just as we thought things on the vegan scene couldn’t get any better – boom, vegan fish and chips! The plant based aficionados, by CHLOE, who are also the brains behind a terrific CBD range, have introduced a dish that creatively mimics the British classic. Expect tofu prepared in fresh nori seaweed to pump some of that sea taste into the dish, alongside mushy minted peas, tartar sauce and chunky chips. So, if you’re up for a bit of quintessential Britishness this weekend, with a twist, then head to any of the by Chloe branches and thank us later!
It’s all in the name at the Real Greek, whose first branch opened its doors in the same year Julia Roberts wandered into a certain Notting Hill dwellers travel bookshop, and MySpace began to take over lives – that’s 1999 for those lesser-informed. Feeling old yet? With a food well-travelled menu that triumphs the Eastern Mediterranean diet, and the fanciful flavours of Greek food, The Real Greek’s many restaurants really do give you a real Greek experience.
And, this weekend, free Ouzo will be the words on your lips as The Real Greek has popped open the doors to its Aegean Kitchen and, as a result, they’re offering one free 50ml bottle with every plate purchased from the new Seafood Menu. Running from the 5-9th of June at its flagship Bankside, the delightful menu includes Aegean Octopus Salad, Skewer of Grilled Monkfish, Whole Seabass, Whole Kalamari and much more. Indulge!
It wouldn’t be summer without the launch of a new afternoon tea, which is why we highly recommending casting a beady eye over some of these lip smackers. From a splash of Italian at Baglioni, to musical feasting at Jumeirah Carlton Tower, you best get down there before they’re going, going, scone…

And, because we don’t want you to get yourself into a bit of a sticky wicket, you can wash it all down with a Kingfisher Brekky Shandy (Kingfisher, mango, grapefruit soda). Breakfast never tasted so good. There’s also a Weekend BBQ Menu on offer, because us Brits know the importance of making the most out of a barbie.
