Celebs are a well travelled bunch. Fact! I mean when you have the money to splurge, the time to spare and a series of people always jumping at the chance to go with you, you’re pretty much guaranteed to strike off locations on your bucket list pretty swiftly. For those of you who love a celeb oggle, here are some of the superstar spots that celebs flock to in order to escape the madding crowd… well not anymore, sorry, not sorry! Whether it’s in an itsy-bitsy bikini on board a super yacht in St Bart’s that’s taking their fancy, or maybe a stay at one of Canada’s finest hotels, we’ve got our insta stories at the ready and our out of office switched on. Baby, it’s vacay time with the A-list.
The Hamptons - New York
It doesn’t take much guessing that we were drawn to The Hamptons after Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The glitzy, big-bottomed family famously filmed there during Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons in 2014 and 2015 – gosh, it seems like yesterday! Now, The Hamptons have gained a rep as a huge celebrity hot spot. Situated on Long Island’s South Fork. Other name drops with houses there include Billy Joel, Scarlett Johansson, and Jerry Seinfeld, with Lady Gaga showing her poker face on a regular basis. Celeb spotting restos include EMP Summer House where Vanessa Hudgens, Hannah Bronfman, and Alec Baldwin like to enjoy cocktails, and Tutto il Giorno; a bolthole for celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez.
Jackson - Wyoming
Harrison Ford, Sandra Bullock, and Matthew McConaughey own homes here, so Jackson must be doing something right? It’s a place far from the madding crowd that boasts huge mountains, bewildering scenery and makes for an idyllic spot for nature lovers, hikers and skiers. Western-themed bars like the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar lie at the bottom of the mountains too; something Kim and Kanye would know all too well after visiting the town and classing it as one of their travel hot-spots… when he isn’t too busy taking to Twitter that is!
Saint Barthélemy - Caribbean
Saint Barthélemy, perhaps more commonly known as St Barts, is a Caribbean island – officially a department of France – also known as the playground of the rich and famous. I mean Beyoncé and Jay-Z love a trip here so need we say more?! The chic island comes with glitzy nightlife and sensational scenery, plus it’s pretty secluded so a perfect escape for celebs… (that is until we disclosed that they love to go here)! Grab your binoculars and take a peek at the harbor in Gustavia and you’ll spot mega-yachts owned by Russian oligarchs and people like Leo DiCaprio and Pippa Middleton lounging around, drink in hand (perhaps not together, although anything is possible in celebville).
Lake Como - Italy
George Clooney is without a doubt the man about town when it comes to Lake Como, often seen out about with Amal at places like Il Gatto Nero. But if those stars aren’t shiny enough for you, how about Emily Blunt and Jon Krasinski? The #couplegoals power duo got married at the coveted destination and we can’t say we’re surprised! Other star spotting has seen Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra showing up. Lake Como is definitely hot right now!
Jasper - Canada
Alongside the odd glimpse of the Northern Lights flittering past as you drive amongst snow-topped mountains, what are the other highlights of Jasper? Well, everything. It’s a mesmerising place that hosts the yearly Jasper Dark Sky Festival, and you can get whisked away by an orchestra under the stars at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, a place that has seen the royals lazing about in luxury, oh and Marilyn Monroe once stayed (my fan-girl moment right there). Rumour has it Harry and Meghan honeymooned here… just saying!
North Island - Seychelles
North Island is a small granitic island in the Seychelles, and if you Google it and put ‘celebrities’ in the search, well the list speaks for itself! From Brangelina, to Elizabeth and Damian Hurley and even Will and Kate who spent 10 days on North Island after their wedding in April 2011.
French Riviera - France
Not too far away from us – although from the images it looks like it could be – the French Riviera has seen Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and J-Lo frequent its shores as of late. The crème de la crème of the celeb-spotting hotels include Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat and Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc. Thank us later!
Zanzibar - Island in Tanzania
Zanzibar baby! Wow – how amazing does this place look? The Tanzanian Island, also known as Unguja, is a suitable place to spot tycoons such as Bill Gates and presenters like Chris Jaftha. It’s down as one of the most romantic destinations of all time – from the images we can’t say we’re surprised – and there are 10 private beach bandas on Mnemba Island alongside palm covered walkways. If heaven is a place on each then it probably looks something like this!
Gstaad Palace- Switzerland
Reputable for its discreet, refined hospitality, the Gstaad Palace has treated a range of the world’s richest and famous celebrities- from Elizabeth Taylor to more recent Anne Hathaway and Madonna, the magnificent view of the Swiss Alps has been enjoyed in the renowned safe haven hotel.
Inverlochy Castle Hotel- Scotland
Uniquely located among the mountains of the West Highlands, the Inverlochy Castle has welcomed many distinguished guests. The long list of well known people includes Elton John, Robert Redford, and Oprah Winfrey, who experienced the ultimate getaway at the top notch resort.
Popularized by John Steinbeck’s Harper’s Bazaar review that deemed the venue a place of mythic stature, Le Sirenuse, is a family-run resort carved into the hillside village of Positano along the Amalfi Coast. Accompanying the sublime view that draws celebs to the resort is a Michelin starred restaurant, oyster bar, and luxurious spa. In recent years it has become a hot destination for celebrity honeymoons and romantic getaways.
