You’ve got the invite, the dress and the party heels, now all you need is a sprinkling of sparkle. We’re not talking fizz – although we wouldn’t say no – for fashion’s sake, it’s time to bring on the bling. Whether you’ve to drop hints or simply want to treat yourself, here’s our round-up of the latest jewellery to light up your look…

Silver is making a big comeback (not that it ever really went away), dominating on the runways and on our faves, Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid. The look is edgy at Alexander McQueen with spiders, skulls and crystals, while it was all about statement-worthy necklaces and pearls at Simone Rocha. Gold remains a firm favourite, but we’re also seeing a crystal rainbow of colour; think vibrancy and playfulness, aka dopamine dressing. It certainly feels like fashion is rebelling against the pandemic, and we’re in for a rollercoaster of opulence and fun. Sounds good to us. And expect this obsession for highly saturated gems to continue into SS23.

As for styles, dramatic fringe earrings are taking centre stage. The bolder, the better, with waterfall pieces from Elie Saab, Valentino and Isabel Marant. They work beautifully with power suits or killer velvet dresses. Punchy florals are also vying for attention on oversized bib necklaces, corsage-style earrings and crystal chokers – best worn with faux leather for the ultimate in bad girl style.

Let’s face it though, you’re pretty safe when it comes to your necklaces and jewels. Yes, there are trends, but when party season hits, you just want to shimmer. So make like a magpie and discover the most polished adornments; embellish and clothe your body in the shiniest of pieces.
