If there’s one thing we love about living in London, it’s the vibrant arty spots that pop up periodically around the city. Our favourite installation to land this summer is a playful collaboration between luxury cognac house, Maison Courvoisier and British Nigerian artist, Yinka Ilori.

In partnership with

For three weeks only from 21st August, the multi-award-winning cognac house will showcase a new limited-edition Courvoisier VSOP bottle designed by Ilori through a vivid installation.

Taking over Selfridges London’s Wonder Room, the luxury retailer’s ground floor space has been given a striking makeover to celebrate the bold visual identity of the new limited-edition bottle. Returning as Courvoisier’s “Ambassador of Joy” for the second year, Ilori’s design is inspired by the joy of a summer’s day in Jarnac, France, the home of Courvoisier. Expect the high-spirited energy of the bottle and ‘joie de vivre’ spark to come to life in the Wonder Room, complete with ombre colours and contemporary cocktails.

Available to explore for a limited time only, here’s what you can expect from Maison Courvoisier’s colourful collaboration…

What’s the limited-edition Courvoisier VSOP like?

Courvoisier VSOP’s bottle is available in four unique colours, perfectly blending Ilori’s signature bold designs with the beauty of the brand’s home of Jarnac.

A blend of four crus, Courvoisier VSOP is aged for up to twelve years in the house’s proprietary barrels. It’s rich and complex, with a delicate balance of oak and exotic flavours finishing with notes of peach, toasted almond and jasmine.

Beaming and beautiful, it doesn’t just taste great but the bottle will brighten up any bar cart.

What can I expect from the Courvoisier x Yinka Ilori space?

The new Courvoisier x Yinka Ilori space combines the artist’s eye-catching designs and storytelling process with the beauty of the brand’s birthplace of Jarnac. Expect the Wonder Room to allow Ilori’s vivid colour palette to come to life, creating a playful space for all to enjoy.

Central to the space will be a striking bar, serving up three bespoke Courvoisier VSOP cognac cocktails. Each will be paired with a creation from gourmet confectionist The Marshmallowist, which has been specially made to make the flavour combinations from each serve.

Sip into the afternoon on sensational serves including:

  • The Gala, which blends Courvoisier VSOP with Sicilian lemonade, and paired with the blueberry, hibiscus and lemon marshmallow decorated with a dramatic chocolate print.
  • Roasted Peach Daisy, a mix of cognac with apricot liqueur, roasted peach syrup and lemon juice, matched with a peach flavoured marshmallow with a caramelised Courvoisier sugar top reminiscent of a brûlée effect.
  • French 125, mixing the cognac with lemon juice, sparkling wine and spiced vanilla syrup, served with an ombre chocolate teacake marshmallow – think a vanilla mallow fluff surrounding a Courvoisier gel centre encased with a white Belgian chocolate coating.

Courvoisier VS and XO cognacs will also be available from the bar throughout the experience.
