London’s new Michelin-starred restaurants were just announced earlier this month, with the capital gaining ten one-star restaurants and two two-star ones. So while we’ve got Michelin stars on our mind, we thought we’d expand our horizons and explore the best Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe. Here are some of our top picks if you’re looking to travel for food:

UK

Mauro Colagreco at Raffles London at The OWO

Michelin Star Status: One star

Mauro Colagreco’s signature restaurant is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience that brings the excellence of the British terroir to the table. Tracing a path through the English countryside and its beautiful gardens, this menu reveals more than 70 varieties of vegetables and fruit, all produced in Britain. With hyper-seasonality as one of his guiding lights, the restaurant sources flavourful ingredients from close by, forging relationships with local producers in the UK.

Gorse

Michelin Star Status: One star

Gorse is a Michelin-starred, Welsh restaurant by Tom Waters that’s definitely worth a visit from London. After opening its doors in May 2024, the restaurant earned a Michelin star just eight months later and we can see why.

The menu has some super creative options that are beautifully presented, and also champion local produce. We love the sound of the broth of native Welsh seaweed, Solva crab with horseradish and blistered cabbage and the new season rhubarb with toasted hay cream, lavender, egg yolk and blackcurrant wood oil.
