Well of course Nobody Wants This has been renewed for Season 2, and while we wait in anticipation for the return of the ‘hot rabbi’, we’ve pieced together all the news and updates that we could find on the return of one of the best romantic shows of 2024.

Just in case you’ve somehow managed to not watch it, here’s what the show is about: Nobody Wants This is everybody’s favourite romantic comedy series on Netflix that explores the unlikely relationship between Joanne (Kristen Bell), an outspoken agnostic podcaster, and Noah (Adam Brody), a newly single rabbi. Despite their contrasting backgrounds and the scepticism of their families, the two navigate the complexities of love, faith, and familial expectations in what the internet has described as a heartwarming, non-toxic and very real depiction of modern love.

What happened at the end of season 1?

The series, created by Erin Foster and inspired by her real-life experiences, premiered in September last year, and filming for season 2 is set to begin next month. To recap, in season 1’s final moments, Joanne tells Noah that she’s not ready to commit to converting to Judaism – a non-negotiable for Noah who was just offered a promotion to become head rabbi at his synagogue. For one heartbreaking moment, we are given to believe that this means it’s all over between them, but of course, Noah makes a big romantic gesture and the series ends with them staying together.

Does this mean that Noah will give up his dream job to be with her? Season 2 will tackle how they decide to move ahead with their relationship, and we’re also eager to see if Joanne manages to see eye-to-eye with Noah’s mother and sister-in-law, who have doubled down against her.

Who stars in Nobody Wants This season 2?

Fans are most excited about the fact that Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) will be joining the cast as Abby, Joanne’s nemesis from middle school who is now an “Instagram mommy influencer”. Also set to join the cast is Miles Fowler who will play Lenny, Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Joanne’s sister Morgan (played by Justine Lupe).

Is there a release date?

The show will be available to stream on Netflix on October 23rd.
