Dripping in sequins, festooned with pretty jewels, or wrapped in layers of sumptuous velvet, we love a good party look. This December there’s no shortage of opulent pieces, whether you always opt for a party frock or prefer a more downplayed jeans and a great top combo.
On the high street, we are loving Warehouse right now thanks to a plethora of party dresses that should have been made for the dancefloors of Studio 54 – we’re looking at you Tassel T-Shirt Mini Dress. And suits that add an elevated flare to the usual two-piece – case in point, their Satin Twill Boyfriend Blazer & Pants which has slightly ballooned proportions giving it a cooler edge.
For something a little more demure, check out Oasis. The high street label isn’t a regular go-to for us, but has launched some impressive after-hours pieces this season. We love the monochrome Bow Detail Bardot Dress with polka dot sheer tights and pointed heels for an ‘80s cocktail dress vibe. As well as the Satin Twill Ruffle Hem Midi Dress in a beautiful rusty velvet making it a great option for Christmas Day too. We’ll be pairing it with gold platforms and a berry red lip this party season.
For something more investment, Isabel Marant’s Cencia Silk Mini is a near-perfect LBD and a lesson in how to do understated cool. Pair it with an all-black look of knee-high boots and oversized blazer and finish off with chunky silver jewels.
Bring Studio 54 vibes to the festive season with Warehouse's Tassel Dress. Dripping in fringes and sequins, this is a dress made for the dancefloor.
Puff sleeves, bow at the back and a glitter ball finish. Sabina Musayev’s Roxana dress has all the makings of a party frock. Pair with black chunky platforms and a velvet bag.
