6 Scandinavian Fashion Brands You Need To Know This Season

3rd January 2025 | By Ashling McCloy

Known for its indisputable style and effortless cool, the regions of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden aretthe go-to for any fashion-hungry type. No wonder our social feeds are teeming with fair beauties in both chic minimalism and eclectic clothing labels. Below we share the Scandinavian fashion brands to have on your radar.

I, for one, am somewhat in awe of the sartorial ease the Scandi lot exudes. Just look to influencers Tine Andrea Lauvli, Chrystelle Eriksberger and Darja Barannik. Yes, they have a natural beauty, but they also know how to put an outfit together. Then there is Jeanette Madsen, Creative Director and Co-founder of Copenhagen fashion brand ROTATE, who may have one the most covetable wardrobes around. One thing to note, though, is that this band of beautifully dressed people all also look perpetually comfortable. Now that is fashion talk I can get on board with.

Ganni is one such label which has garnered such a huge following that it now has its own Icon collection. It specialises in comfort with that very specific quirkiness, from puffed sleeves to instantly recognisable prints. Meanwhile, Swedish label Bite leans more into the classics made from natural organic fibres – forever items that you’ll never fail to love.

Scandi style is more about a look, personality or expression than a current trend. These globally desired fashion labels are about long-term high quality pieces, rather than throw-away clothing.

It’s true that we’re possibly now more aware of these striking exports because of the camera-friendly influencers, but I’m definitely grateful. Copenhagen Fashion Week has also come to the fore, stealing the thunder from other great cities, primarily because of the famed street style. If you’re looking to dabble in Scandi fashion, then read on to discover the labels we’re hankering after.

1. Stine Goya

Launched back in 2006, Danish designer Stine Goya has created a unique brand that’s now synonymous with more of the maximalist Scandi dressing. Expect daring designs, bold colours and experimental silhouettes. The bespoke hand-drawn prints by the in-house team create an appeal, giving the range a collector’s vibe.

As Stine Goya continues to expand, its universe and playful silhouettes attract legions of loyal and confident followers seeking to inject every corner of life with a fresh and bold approach.

2. Rotate

I adore this label. It has this seductive allure, which is both sexy and playful. Even their catwalk shows are more than just fashion; they’re sharing a story and providing a lifestyle. From Birger Christensen, it was created in partnership with influencers and stylists Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimarsdottir. And if their style is anything to go by, you’ll want in on the action.

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the brand has taken the world by storm with its sexy minidresses and covetable pieces for the going-out wardrobe. The ROTATE brand is a response to Jeanette and Thora’s musings over the gaps in their own wardrobes, designing the pieces that they dream of having in their closets.

3. Ganni

Another of my faves. I believe most people within fashion circles own at least one Ganni number. I live in my Betzy jeans and know I’m not alone in this obsession. This season promises to bring even more leopard print, the iconic ballet pumps, not to mention more of those iconic tees and sweaters. We all want to be a #GanniGirl.

Ganni has become one of the most well-known Scandinavian brands. Its following is now huge, mainly thanks to its quirky creations, cool girl style and incredible quality.

4. Bite

Co-founded by Swedish duo Veronika Kant and William Lundgren back in 2016, the brand is a luxurious nod to sustainability. Yes, it celebrates a minimalist aesthetic, but it’s also rich in texture, quality and the most exquisite investment pieces. This Scandi label leans into an eco-conscious way of producing garments, so you can expect organic cotton, responsible wool and the most heavenly organic silk.

Born of a deep respect for ecology, art and craft, BITE (aka By Independent Thinkers for Environmental progress) is a niche, forward-thinking women’s label embodying a new vision of luxury.

5. Stella Nova

Instantly recognisable, this brand was one of those Instagram sensations. Stylists and influencers were quickly spotted everywhere in the statement-worthy blouses and dresses. Designer and creative director Trine Skoller, founded Stella Nova in 2002 with a desire to create long-lasting styles that are unique, playful and essentially smile-inducing.

The focal point is the creation of the perfect must-have wardrobe where every item consists of little treasures, that each tell their own story. We work with contrasts, as we think that only where opposites meet, is it possible to create a new story.
In a world that has enough, it is our aim to create unique styles that women will want in their wardrobe now and forever.”

6. Acne Studios

It’s definitely not new on our radar – it was founded in 1996 – but it’s certainly one to invest in. The label’s accessories are second-to-none, and that scarf has been added to everyone’s wishlist. Roll on Christmas, please. Much like most Scandinavian fashion brands, Acne Studios successfully fuses fine tailoring, lifetime leathers and luxe denim, with edgy plays on its personality. The name even stands for “Ambition to Create Novel Expressions”. Through founder and Creative Director Jonny Johansson’s vision, we have been gifted an incredible fashion line directly from Stockholm.

The collections are defined by Jonny Johansson’s signature attention to detail, with an emphasis on tailoring and an eclectic use of materials and custom-developed fabrics. The collections cover men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, footwear, accessories and denim.
