Alongside blazers and tees, shirts are my fashion faithfuls. The effortless elegance they add to any fit is undeniable. I love the feel of a crisp new blouse, the slight grown-up vibe it evokes. Over the years, I’ve relied on the likes of Zara and Mango for affordable options and Wear Nothing Underneath for the ultimate treat.

As with anything, though, it’s always fun to mix things up. This season, I’ve been experimenting with a little drama. The pussy bow blouse is a current favourite, but the style scene is set with plenty of other flamboyant options. Think oversized collars, ruffles, silk, chiffons and blouson sleeves. Essentially, we’re seeing a simple yet stylish number evolve into the statement blouse… and I like it.

For a really OTT iteration, head to Damson Madder, or if you’re after less drama and more sophistication, & Other Stories, Zara, and Cos are full to the brim with fancy collars and pretty bows. At the same time, Sézane features multiple designs with a nod to bohemian dressing, particularly in its latest collaboration with Baziszt, a stunning label specialising in intricate hand embroidery. All utterly beautiful.
