Sophie Turner’s New Thriller Steal Is One To Look Out For In 2026

What if your ordinary job suddenly got turned upside down and thrown into chaos as part of a massive, complex heist? That’s the concept of Prime Video’s latest thriller Steal, starring Sophie Turner, out today. Turner stars as Zara, an ordinary office worker who becomes caught up in a major criminal operation to steal billions. But who committed the crime? Here’s everything you need to know about the new series:
What is Steal about?

Turner’s character Zara works in a mostly dull, unglamorous job for a pension fund investment company named Lochmill Capital. Her best friend, Luke (Archie Madekwe), also works there, and life is quite mundane. However, this is all upended when a gang of thieves bursts in and demands money. They seize both Zara and Luke and force them to help them gain access to vast sums from people’s pensions, and the two have no choice but to adhere to their demands. The group of criminals then disappear with the money, leaving Zara and Luke shaken.
But who would decide to target the pensions of ordinary people, plan to carry out a major heist, and why? A police investigation is soon launched, with DCI Rhys (played by Jacob Fortune Lloyd) leading the charge. There’s a lot of evidence to sift through and threads to connect, but unbeknownst to others, there is a secret that Rhys is keeping concealed. The detective is a former gambling addict, and his struggles have flared recently as he has relapsed into betting his money. He tries to keep his troubles hidden, lest they ruin his career. As the investigation deepens, Rhys finds himself navigating secret agendas that span a tangled web of conspiracy.
