Colin Farrell Is Back In Sugar Season 2, Here Is Everything We Know So Far

Apple TV’s Colin Farrell starring detective drama Sugar first hit our screens back in 2024, and established itself as a stylish, contemporary take on a classic genre. Anchored by the always great Farrell and containing a huge (and quite divisive) twist, anyone who saw it knew that there was definitely more story to be told- and the follow-up is arriving this summer. Season 2 promises to tell another dazzling detective tale- and here’s all we know so far:
What is Sugar season 2 about?
Season two sees Farrell return as John Sugar, an enigmatic Los Angeles private detective who’s back to investigate a new case. This time, he’s drawn into a new missing persons investigation – the older brother of a hotshot young boxer has gone missing, and John is asked to solve it. The investigation pulls Sugar into a citywide conspiracy with sinister implications, forcing him to confront not just these looming threats, but his own moral boundaries. John asks himself how far he’ll go to do what’s right. It looks to play out with thrilling style- but whether it’ll have the same kind of big twist as last time remains to be seen.
The show continues to play with the private detective genre, combining classic noir elements with a more unconventional, genre-bending edge, the same mix of ingredients that made the first season an interesting standout compared to other shows like it.

What else do we know, and who’s in the cast?
There’s no official trailer for Season 2 yet, as we’re still a little way off from its June release date, but Apple TV+ has released a few first-look images and new material showing John in action and teasing some of the new characters to come.
Speaking of which, alongside Farrell, season two will star several new cast members to shake things up, with some notable names including Pachinko star Jin Ha and Supergirl actress Sasha Calle. Tony Dalton, who played the supremely menacing Lalo in Better Call Saul, will also have a role.
When does it release?
Sugar season two will be premiering globally with its first episode on Apple TV+ on 19 June 2026, and the remaining parts rolling out weekly.
