Oscars 2023: All The Best Dressed At The 95th Academy Awards

The countdown is over as the stars took to the champagne-coloured carpet in their finest to mark the 95th Academy Awards. The night recognises the greatest talent in film, but it also showcases the most incredible designer fashion. From the dresses to the trends, these are the Oscars best dressed…
The Oscars fashion and beauty brought us plenty of glitz, glamour and drama from start to finish. Giant bows, corsages and swathes of taffeta drew us in, while bold coloured gowns stood out from the infinite array of white and cream dresses. The latter being the winning shade as Michelle Yeoh took home the Oscar for Best Actress in a Dior Haute Couture white feather dress.
We were wowed by Cara Delevingne in the red Elie Saab gown and, while she didn’t win, Cate Blanchett won in the oscars style stakes in an incredibly chic sustainable look designed at Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghequiere. Elsewhere on the A-list filled carpet, the LBD still held its appeal, as long as it featured added embellishment. Nicole Kidman opted for a black Armani Privé gown with 3D sequin corsages, while Jennifer Connolly wore a stunning Louis Vuitton off-the-shoulder number with a geometric studded neckline. Both Rihanna and Lady Gaga not only performed but also went for the sheer trend currently dominating. Gaga’s black Versace dress, featuring a sheer bodice and skirt with a dropped waistline, had only recently had its catwalk debut modelled by Gigi Hadid.

Sequins and sparkle were also prevalent. Both Jessie Buckley and Kate Hudson shimmered in Rodarte. Hudson in a custom silver hand beaded silk and tulle bias gown and Buckley in the FW23 purple and gold hand beaded metallic lace gown. Meanwhile the plethora of thigh-high slit dresses added sexiness. Angelina Jolie‘s 2012 Oscar look may have made this style pretty memorable, but this year’s stars, namely Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry, were definitely making their own new headlines.
Until next year, these are the looks, stylists and designers who got us talking…
