From 1st July to 3rd September, Battersea Power Station will transform into a must-visit destination for sports and games fans with its new event for the summer, The Battersea Games. The riverside neighbourhood is inviting all to take part or spectate in an exciting calendar of free and ticketed sports and games-focused activities all summer long, including Wimbledon screenings, outdoor sports-themed films, fitness classes, boxing and yoga classes, virtual reality gaming, ping pong, giant board games and a pop-up padel court. What Sports And Games Can I Expect?
Power Station Park, Battersea Power Station’s riverside green space, will play host to a pop-up padel court from Rocket Padel, a 100m running track and 3×3 basketball court. There’ll also be a flexi-space where the likes of Nike, lululemon and Be Military Fit (BMF) will offer a mix of classes, from yoga to boxing and HIIT workouts. Nearby at The Coaling Jetty, enjoy a game of Boules while soaking up the beautiful riverside views.
Meanwhile, inside the Power Station, prepare to conquer new heights with an indoor climbing experience as you take in the post-war industrial design of Turbine Hall B from a climbing wall. For some family-friendly fun, you’ll want to check out the Bounce Ping Pong pop-up with their games gurus ahead of their official opening inside the Power Station this summer. DNA VR will also be offering a range of fun and engaging virtual reality experiences and laser tag. Vintage arcade games including the World’s Largest PAC-MAN will be available inside Turbine Hall B too.

Who Can Take Part?
The evolving calendar of activities is suitable for sports and games fans of all ages. If you want to bring the whole family along, dogs are welcome too! Your four-legged friend will be well catered for with charity Battersea Dogs & Cats Home bringing a dog-friendly agility course and hosting dog training sessions in Power Station Park.
Can I Attend Without Taking Part?
Spectators are more than welcome, and there are several other free activities happening throughout summer for everyone to get involved in, including Wimbledon screenings in Power Station Park. Sit back and watch all the live action on a big screen while enjoying some sensationally sippable Gin & Tonics from Sipsmith, the Official Gin sponsor of Wimbledon, with drinks served from their new art deco Gin Bus during the Wimbledon Finals Weekend. There’ll also be sports and games-themed films shown here throughout summer, as well as screenings of other summer sporting fixtures like the Tour de France and World Athletics Championships.
Do I Need To Buy Tickets?
The best bit is that most activities at The Battersea Games are completely free! Some activities, such as padel, rock climbing, and the VR experience come at a small cost.
Do I Need To Book?
Nope – show up on the day and activities will be first come, first served. The only thing that does require a booking in advance is the padel pop-up court, which is available in one-hour slots, and can be booked via the Battersea Power Station website.
Where To Refuel
After enjoying the variety of sports and games on offer, don’t forget to refuel at over 30 cafes, bars and restaurants inside and outside the Power Station, from riverside restaurants Wright Brothers and Megan’s at The Power Station to Clean Kitchen Club, Where The Pancakes Are, Le Bab, Poke House, Noci Pasta and soon-to-open Arcade Food Hall, boasting two bars, three restaurants and thirteen different cuisines. Plus, there will also be some exciting street food pop-ups on the Riverwalk.
Fancy a spot of shopping? In keeping with the sports theme, visitors can pick up the latest sports and activewear clothing, equipment and accessories from the likes of Nike, Adidas, lululemon, Sweaty Betty, The North Face, Under Armour, JOTT, Skechers and Arc’teryx, with some brands offering special offers and instore events in celebration of the Games taking place. If you need some post-game pampering, Rituals, Aēsop, The Body Shop, Kiehl’s, Jo Malone London and Space NK are close to hand with products and instore treatments to help with feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Plus, several brands will be showcasing the latest in SPF products, helping visitors stay safe in the summer sun.
