British high street label Principles has long been known for its polished finished, tailored workwear and standout evening looks, but, we have to admit, it hasn’t been on our radar for some time now. Well, it’s back – stocked exclusively at Debenhams – and we think it might just be the label’s best collection to date. Cooler and more contemporary than ever, here’s why it’s worth revisiting the new Principles collection.

From high-neck blouses to autumnal prints in a 1970’s inspired colour palette, smart workwear, casual pieces to cosy up in and statement looks destined for the upcoming party season, we’ve handpicked our favourites to save you scrolling.

Heroes include a standout leather trench – a key coat trend for AW22 – which we’ll be wearing with wide-leg trousers and roll-neck knits or ’60s-inspired mini dresses, tights and ankle boots for a retro feel.
Dresses are central to the new season line with some incredible prints that belie their reasonable price tag. Look to the Choc Stencil Plunge Midi Dress, with its cold-weather take on florals it comes in a rich chocolate brown and off-white – a welcomed departure to the usual black and white combination. Or the Drape Detail High Neck Midi Dress in soft pastel blue and peach. We love the glamorous feel of its 1930’s-inspired tea dress silhouette – perfect with cream slouchy knee-high boots for the office but equally as good dressed up with barely-there sandals and statement earrings.
