The Night Agent Returns For Season 2: All We Know

Night Agent fans, listen up: season 2 of Netflix’s hit series is nearly upon us. Releasing in the new year, The Night Agent returns and picks up where we left off, with Peter (Gabriel Basso) having successfully saved the US President and earned the chance to cement himself as a fully fledged Night Agent.
As he familiarises himself with his new agency and job, he’ll find himself facing new threats and even greater challenges. Joining the likes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and The White Lotus as some of the biggest shows of 2025, here’s all you need to know.
What is The Night Agent season 2 about?
After becoming a smash hit for Netflix with its debut season last year, The Night Agent’s second outing promises to be bigger and more bombastic than the first. We’ll be catching up again with Peter Sutherland, the FBI agent who started out last time around as a phone operator at the White House. Now working as a member of the secretive and elite Night Action organisation, he’ll once again be helping to keep the nation safe from threats and conspiracy, having proved himself as more than capable.
Things will certainly heat up for Peter as he gets to grips with his new role, with danger around every corner and soon finding he’s not entirely sure who he can trust. According to series creator Shawn Ryan, one of the core plot points of season 2 will be exploring what exactly it means for Peter to be a Night Agent, especially after fully discovering the truth about his father, an FBI agent, had committed treason: “You’re gonna see a lot more inner turmoil on Peter’s end” he told Entreatment Weekly. Key also will be seeing what’s next for Peter and Rose, the young tech-focused entrepreneur that he meets in season 1, and establishes a fledgling romance with. Peter, of course, is now saddled with new responsibilities and a job that’ll take him further afield, and Rose is eyeing a future in California to fulfil her dreams- so will their relationship survive?

Who else stars?
All of these elements and more will have a part to play in season 2, with the action thrills set to kick into overdrive. Meanwhile, the cast will feature a mix of new and returning faces to the world of The Night Agent, including Hong Chau (The Menu), Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect), Amanda Warren (Dickinson), Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries) and Teddy Sears (The Flash.)
Release date
The new season is set to come blasting onto our screens on 23rd January 2025, and it’s already been renewed for a third season down the line.
