Led by Sienna Miller and Dominic West, WAR is set to be a tense, edge-of-your-seat legal drama. Currently in production, the new series sees the two star actors play a tech titan (West) and his film star wife (Miller) after their marriage has fallen apart and both have become estranged. Two rival law firms take on the divorce case, but there prove to be a lot more complications and shocking twists than anyone could have imagined. Here’s all you need to know.

What is WAR about?

WAR comes from writer George Kay, creator of acclaimed shows like Lupin and Hijack, and is set in London’s elite legal world. Specifically, it follows two prestigious law firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, who are fierce rivals. The firms find themselves going head to head in what is billed as the “divorce case of the century”: tech mogul Morgan Henderson (West) is divorcing his movie star wife Carla Duval (Miller). It’s a contentious case, and both sides are certain that their camp will triumph. But, as Sky’s official synopsis indicates, the legal battle gets more and more complicated, as loyalties are tested and things become truly ruthless.

The highly scandalous case sends “shockwaves through boardrooms, bedrooms, and courtrooms alike.” While Miller and West are the headline stars, other key players are Phoebe Fox (The Great) and James McArdle (Mare of Easttown) as Serena Byrne and Nicholas Taylor, the legal partners at Taylor and Byrne, as well as Nina Sosanya (Baby Reindeer) and Pip Torrens (The Crown) as Beatrice Ubosi and John Smallwood, who work at Cathcarts. Everyone is an important piece of the battle, and it’ll be a brutally hard-fought race to win the case. Expect plenty of dirty tactics and attempts to sabotage the other side before the show is up.

What else do we know, and is there a release date?

WAR is currently in production for both Sky and HBO Max, and while there’s no firm release date yet, it’s likely it’ll be released sometime in 2026. We also know that this won’t be the only season of the series- the show has already been commissioned for a second season, and it’s been confirmed that each season will focus on a different case in an anthology format. Stay tuned for more details and your first look at Sienna Miller and Dominic West in the coming months.
