Attention, brides-to-be. Let us talk about those little details that can make your big day truly unforgettable, starting with your nails. Amidst all the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, your manicure deserves some spotlight.

From capturing pre-ceremony moments to exchanging vows at the altar and beyond, every aspect of your wedding day will be elevated by a dazzling mani. Who better to ask than celebrity nail artist Georgia Rae (@raelondonnails), who has also done Sofia Richie Grainge’s pointers, to share her top bridal nail tips?

Establish A Hand and Nail Care Routine

It’s never too early to prep your nails and hands ahead of your big day. “Exfoliating at least once a week and applying a hand cream and cuticle oil 2-3 times per day (but especially as a final step before bed to allow it to work overnight) is a must from engagement to wedding day.”

Things To Consider

“Look at all the little details, skin tone, design of the ring, shade of the dress, shape of your fingers. The key for shaping is going for what looks most natural, so if your nails naturally grow more rounded, I will look to refine that shape. Alternatively, if the ring is an oval, a similar nail shape can really pull the whole look together, however there are no strict rules!”

The Shades That Wow

“After Sofia Richie Grainge set the tone by wearing Bio Sculpture’s Sweet Candy Breath for her wedding day last year, it fast became the most selected shade for all my bridal manicures. It’s a beautiful, sheer, yet buildable blend of all of the best bridal tones. I think there will be a similar trend this year of wanting to enhance natural beauty. You heard it here first!

Experiment With Layering

“Layering a milky, transparent white shade beneath a sheer pink or beige brightens the nail and gives it a more bridal feel without being too stark or distracting.

By layering shades, you can create a bespoke colour to compliment any skin tone

Keep Applying Cuticle Oil for Honeymoon Nails

“Once you have your manicure done, minimal maintenance is required. However, I would recommend continuing with the pre-wedding routine, especially applying cuticle oil regularly; this will prevent any hangnails, which will keep your manicure looking beautiful for longer.”

Avoid Using Your Nails Like Tools

“Don’t underestimate the importance of proper nail polish removal. Peeling and picking gel off (we’ve all been there!) will cause damage to the nail and reverse all the hard work you put in getting them into good condition.”
