Halle Bailey & Regé-Jean Page’s New Film You, Me & Tuscany Is Out Tomorrow

If you feel in need of a bit of sunny escapism and love a good old-fashioned romcom, then look no further than You, Me & Tuscany, which releases in cinemas tomorrow and stars The Little Mermaid‘s Halle Bailey and Bridgerton‘s Regé-Jean Page.
It follows a young cook who arrives in Tuscany to take in the Italian countryside and stays in a beautiful villa. The only problem is, it’s owned by someone else, and she’s there without permission, and comes up with an idea to get out of trouble when she meets the owner’s handsome cousin.
What is You Me & Tuscany about?
Halle Bailey has made a name for herself in the film world with her performances in The Little Mermaid and The Colour Purple, and is now jumping into the romcom genre with You Me & Tuscany. She plays Anna, a “free-spirited” cook who suddenly loses her job and her home. With her life thrown up in the air, she decides to make a very impulsive decision: after happening to meet the Italian man Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor), who mentions he owns a villa in Tuscany, Anna takes a plane with the intention of staying there, without permission. She doesn’t intend to stay long, and the house and location seem too good to pass up. But she runs into a snag when Matteo’s mother arrives and discovers her.

How to get out of such a predicament? For Anna, the answer is to pretend that she’s really Matteo’s fiancée and to keep up the charade to his mother. And then she meets Michael, Matteo’s cousin, who seems much more likely to see through her. The twists keep coming as Anna and Michael both realise that there’s chemistry between them, despite Anna’s sudden and unconventional arrival. But whether they’ll actually end up together is, of course, the crux of the film.
Watch the trailer
The film’s official trailer gives us a glimpse at Anna, Michael and the Italian countryside, as well as introducing us to Anna’s best friend Claire (played by Aziza Scott), who understandably cautions her against the idea of staying in Matteo’s villa. But she heads off undeterred and finds that her chef skills come in handy when she immerses herself in Italian cooking. It also teases fast cars and at least one shirtless scene (Bridgerton fans take note). You, Me & Tuscany is set to release in cinemas tomorrow so book your tickets now.
