Stop what you’re doing – Netflix has finally released Bridgerton Season 4 – Part 1. We already know that the lead is Bridgerton brother, Benedict. Played by Luke Thompson, season 4 will follow his pursuit of one true love, and we absolutely cannot wait. Here’s all you need to know…

What do we know about Bridgerton Season 4?

Keeping with the show’s love for suspense and (long lingering stares), there’s not a lot of information out there yet. But it has been confirmed that Season 4 will see Thompson take on a well-deserved leading man role. The second son in the Bridgerton family, Benedict, is set to become captivated by a “lady in silver” at his mother’s masquerade ball – because, as we know, all the most important things happen at balls. There will be eight episodes in this season, led by showrunner Jess Brownell, and of course, the production company Shondaland. As for a release date, it’s due to hit our screens in 2026.

In the original series, written by the author Julia Quinn, Benedict’s love story plays out in the third instalment, An Offer From A Gentleman. In Season 3, we saw Benedict romantically entangled with the wealthy widow Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New), with the occasional involvement of her friend Paul, played by Lucas Aurelio. Season 3 also left us with some big moments, with Penelope being outed as Lady Whistledown and the Bridgerton family matriarch possibly falling in love again. The last episode saw Kate and Anthony deciding to travel to India for the birth of their first child, and Colin and Penelope enjoying their happily ever after with a baby in tow. Colin also finally becomes a published author thanks to his memoir of the travels he couldn’t stop talking about.

What’s new for Bridgerton Season 4?

It’s been announced that Benedict Bridgerton will meet Sophie Baek (played by Yerin Ha), a victim of tragic circumstances, at Lady Bridgerton’s famed masquerade ball – fun fact, this will happen in the first episode of Season 4. It’s also confirmed that Season 2’s leading lady Simone Ashley, who plays Anthony Bridgerton’s wife Kate Sharma, will return too.

Netflix’s Tudum also announced that new cast members include Lady Araminta Gun, played by Katie Leung, who is twice-married and twice-widowed with two daughters debuting on the marriage mart this season. There’s also Rosamund Li, played by Michelle Mao, Araminta’s eldest daughter and Posy Li, played by Isabella Wei, Rosamund’s younger, kinder sister.

Release date

Bridgerton will debut in two instalments of four episodes each, with the first premiering today [January 29, 2026], and the second following on February 26, 2026.
