Who Knew Water Glasses Could Look This Beautiful? These Are Our Favourites…
Let’s face it, the humble water glass has had little attention over the years. Previously a clear tumbler would do the trick, while gin, wine and even shot glasses had all the fun. Well, no longer. From vibrant shades to terrazzo prints, skilled artisans are finally tempting us with water glasses so beautiful they could be works of art.
Whether it’s about making water feel a touch more exciting or simply transforming your tablecape (we’re banking on the latter), tumblers are looking more extravagant than ever. Perhaps you’d like to brighten up your breakfast? Or bring in colours to match your new tablecloth? Either way, we’ve found you a rainbow of gorgeous glasses to choose from.
For something a little cheeky, Anissa Kermiche has worked with Maison Flâneur to create little butt-shaped drinking glasses. Similarly (yet not as naughty), Cabana has joined up with Carolina Herrera in an exclusive collaboration to create the Jackie collection. Picture glassware in vibrant, swirling colours and patterns encapsulating the spirit of both renowned brands.
Also known for its colour is the multi-tasking Milanese brand, La DoubleJ. From utterly fabulous fashion to the most flamboyant and inspiring tableware, we couldn’t wait to investigate the label’s take on glassware. Unsurprisingly, after teaming up with esteemed Venetian glassmaker Salviati, La DoubleJ has created a phenomenal collection handmade from Murano glass and bearing all the hallmarks of La DoubleJ’s now instantly recognisable maximalist aesthetic.
Casa Celva is all about sustainably crafted homeware. Founded by Catherine Maguire during lockdown, she wanted to make beautiful, ethically sourced pieces accessible to the UK. Each individual item is mindfully crafted with longevity in mind, including the handblown Murano glassware.
Casa Celva is yet another brand embracing bold colours. Each one of their tumblers is handblown by master glass blowers on the island of Murano, which has been synonymous with beautiful handmade glassware for centuries. As has the Balearic Island of Mallorca, where Woven Rosa’s exclusive Cala Collection has also been handblown. Look out for the Mediterranean influences in each individual piece. So you see, we’re now spoiled for choice. Are you ready to upgrade your water glasses?
