British Brand Barbour Join Forces With French Fashion House Chloé For A Unique Collaboration
British heritage brand Barbour have teamed up with iconic French fashion house Chloé for a dreamy collaboration made for the outdoors.
Barbour are no stranger to the fashion collab having already teamed up with the likes of Ganni and Alexa Chung, but this season sees their most sought-after partnership yet, as the British brand take on the French charm of Chloé.
Unveiled as part of the Spring 2023 collection, the collection is made up of three pieces. First up, the Dany coat – a midi length brown waxed-cotton jacket finished with an undulating ruffled trim – it gives a romantic edge to an old favourite. Then there’s the shorter iteration, the Dustyn, which feels a little more city-appropriate and pulled together with its corduroy collar – great for rainy London days or wet UK festivals. And finally, the showstopper of the collection, the Hadrien cape. The navy hooded coat, crafted from durable cotton with a Thornproof waxed outer and lined with a classic tartan twill, will bring some glamour to country walks or a drizzly London.
Accessories complete the collection with two Edith bag styles (medium and large); boots – some great tartan trimmed walking boots and an elegant pair of knee-high butter-soft leathers; and a silk tartan scarf that wouldn’t have gone a miss in the Queen’s Balmoral wardrobe. The accessories would make great Christmas gifts for any fans of either of the two brands.

This is the first time in the 128 year Barbour history that the heritage label has teamed up with a luxury womenswear Maison. And it is of personal significance to Chloé’s Creative Director Gabriela Hearst, who fondly remembers the former’s iconic wax jackets from her childhood. Memories of her fashion and then step-father – both Gauchos – wearing them to work on her family’s ranch in Uruguay has given her a life-long affinity with the country staple.
