Love Hosting? This Is The Coolest Dish Of 2026

Perhaps one of the most demonstrative examples of lifestyle creep is the latest food trend to hit my algorithm. Where matcha lattes and smashburgers once took centre stage, my Instagram and Pinterest boards are now dominated by perhaps the least-relatable (though no less desirable) snack: crisps and caviar.
While technically ‘easy’ to put together (once you have all the ingredients, that is), you could call this high-low dish ‘accessible’ were it not for the astronomical price point.
With that in mind, as someone with expensive taste but a more modest budget, I’ve been on the hunt for more affordable ways to recreate this at home and, well, did you know that you can get lumpfish caviar from Waitrose for just £3? True story.

Ingredients
Caviar
Creme fraiche
Crisps
If you want to be even fancier, add chopped chives
Method
As you might’ve guessed, there’s really not that much to this one so the word ‘method’ is perhaps generous.
1. All you have to do is serve up your crisps of choice on a nice serving plate or dish.
2. You can either dollop a small spoonful of creme fraiche on top of each crisp or, if you prefer to let your guests dip, serve it in a separate little bowl with chopped chives sprinkled over.
3. Then, of course, make space for the star of the show: the caviar – teamed with a sweet little serving spoon – et voila.
