The Handbook

London’s hospitality scene has been hit extremely hard since the breakout of the pandemic. Restaurants, bars and hotels went from being fully operating and booked up to shut down overnight. We went from writing monthly features on the latest restaurant opening to zero in the space of a few days. But, we have some egg-citing news, because today, we can finally report a new resto opening and it involves a whole lotta egg action.

Last week saw Eggslut announce the launch of their second London outpost and it’s opening next month!

Defining themselves as a chef driven, gourmet food concept, the LA-based diner first landed in the UK last year and they’ve been paving the way for the egg sarnie industry ever since. These guys have helped redefine everything we knew and already loved about the humble egg, and gave the simple ingredient the 21st century makeover it deserved. Now egg lovers across London and beyond have been fuelling their Sunday hangovers with eggy baps courtesy of Eggslut.

Following the success of their Notting Hill branch, Eggslut is launching its 10th location worldwide and it’s making a beeline for Percy Street, Fitzrovia. And that’s not all, the casual-dining spot has announced that they will be hiring solely hospitality workers who were made redundant due to the impact of COVID-19, which will no doubt be a huge help for the workers and the families who have faced huge financial challenges since the pandemic broke out.

The Percy Street menu will be hailing all of the Eggslut favourites. From ‘The Slut’, made from a coddled egg on top of smooth potato puree, that’s been poached in a glass jar and served with baguette slices, to the ‘Gaucho’, consisting of sear wagyu tri-tip steak, cage-free over medium egg, chimichurri, red onions and dressed arugula in a warm brioche bun, you can be sure to see the oeuf raise to new heights at Eggslut.

The site will operate fully following the government COVID guidelines and this site is set to join the Notting Hill outpost on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, so whether you fancy heading out for an eggy bite or you’re looking for a hangover cure at home, Eggslut is set to answer all of your egg fused prayers.

Eggslut Percy Street opens July 2020 (Date TBC) and will be available to order on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.

Eggslut: 17 Percy Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1DT
