Facial massage makes everything better! Using facial massage techniques works to relax the mind, body and facial muscles, release tension and stagnation, plump the skin tissue. Plus, it increases dermal hydration for a healthier, more youthful condition and an overall sculpted, brighter appearance.

Not only does it help to improve product absorption and encourage collagen production.

We may have been slacking on the SPF front during the winter months, but spring is the perfect time to bring your SPF 50 ‘A game’ so you can enjoy the sunshine without worrying about damaging your skin.

Take some time to look at your skin, what are your skin concerns, how does the behaviour of your skin adjust with the changes in seasons? Then, lean in and switch up your at-home skincare products, just like spring brings a fresh revival of new beginnings.

Opt for lighter cleansers, if you are a user of balms, you may want to switch to cleansing oils.

Keep your essential active serums in place, but find a more comfortable solution as the skin warms up with the weather. And convert to a light breathable moisturiser during the day and a facial oil at night time in place of rich balms or occlusives.

Assess your current routine, clear away any out-of-date products, and store unused products in a dark cupboard ready for next year. Make space for your new routine in a place that is easy to access and reminds you to perform your routine, a place of peace where you can take 5-10 minutes out for yourself.

Spring is the ideal time to revamp and rejuvenate our bodies from the inside out.

Increase your hydration input both internally and externally. With more water during the day, both at room temperature and hot water. Layering serums, from the lightest water-based serums to a richer, creamier formula to lock in essential moisture. Look into supplements that will serve your body, switching up your food intake, making it more colourful and including more nourishing fruits and veggies to feed your skin from the inside out.  Just giving your skin more love all over.

Consider incorporating an antioxidant serum into your spring routine. There are many options for this; depending on your skin’s tolerance to the formula, choose one that works for you. Antioxidant power during the warmer months carries a significant amount of skin protection, including inhibiting free radical damage and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Add in an exfoliating toner 1-2 times a week rather than harsh acids during the warmer months. Using a gentler formula in the spring and summer will work to stimulate cell turnover and keep dead skin cells at bay without overwhelming the skin.

Warmer weather means warmer skin. Rather than reducing your skincare application, pare down your makeup kit and switch to tinted moisturisers or tinted skin fluid instead of heavy foundations. Try adding an illuminating balm or fluid to your daily moisturiser to create a dewy skin finish before adding your SPF.
