13 of the Best April Pop-Ups and Supper Clubs

Monday 3rd April 2017

April is set to be a month of caviar, tequila, restaurant menu swaps, retro-futuristic immersive dining experiences and curry with the Lord Mayor… We’ve rounded up 13 of the best pop-ups and supper clubs taking place over the next month – it’s set to be a busy one so get booking.

What: Japanese Menu Preview

Why: If one or two day pop-ups seem to constantly pass you by (us too) then you’ll be pleased to hear this one lasts all month long. Mayfair’s Avenue restaurant is welcoming former Sexy Fish and Zuma chef, Ben Orpwood, to the kitchen for a Japanese-inspired residency before he heads up new D&D restaurant, Issho, in Leeds in the spring. Preview dishes from Issho’s new menu, like roast diver scallop with pickled apple and jalapeño, and whole soy glazed baby chicken served with fries and slaw.
Friday 31st March – Sunday 30th April

Where: 7-9 St James's Street, London, SW1A 1EE

Website: www.avenue-restaurant.co.uk

What: Charity Restaurant Collaboration

Why: Two restaurants are better than one…or at least in this case they will be. Som Saa are joining forces with their Shoreditch neighbours Pitt Cue for the month of April. Each restaurant has come up with a dish to be served on the menu at the neighbouring site, with 50p from each dish going to a chosen charity – Crisis for som saa and Farms Not Factories for Pitt Cue. Visit som saa and experience a Pitt Cue twist on their Northern Thai sausage dish, using their own Cornish-reared pigs, house-made red curry paste and regional herbs and spices. At Pitt Cue you can sample a taste of Thailand, with som saa’s deep fried day boat fish with sour fruits, dried shrimp and sweet fish sauce.
Saturday 1st – Sunday 30th April

Where: 43A Commercial Street, Shoreditch, E1 6BD

What: Ibizan Fine Dining in Soho

Why: Ibiza season doesn’t officially kick off until the end of April, but get a taste of it (literally) early at L’Escargot this month. The Soho restaurant is welcoming chef Gome Gailily from Ibiza hotspot Lamuella, to takeover the kitchen for four nights, dishing up the likes of crab truffle with quails egg and crispy duck steamed buns. His food is like art – it will be stunning.
Monday 3rd – Thursday 6th April

Where: 48 Greek Street, Soho, W1D 4EF

What: Cultural Supper Clubs

What: Spring Wine Dinner
