April is set to be a month of caviar, tequila, restaurant menu swaps, retro-futuristic immersive dining experiences and curry with the Lord Mayor… We’ve rounded up 13 of the best pop-ups and supper clubs taking place over the next month – it’s set to be a busy one so get booking.
Avenue Restaurant and Bar
Japanese Menu Preview
If one or two day pop-ups seem to constantly pass you by (us too) then you’ll be pleased to hear this one lasts all month long. Mayfair’s Avenue restaurant is welcoming former Sexy Fish and Zuma chef, Ben Orpwood, to the kitchen for a Japanese-inspired residency before he heads up new D&D restaurant, Issho, in Leeds in the spring. Preview dishes from Issho’s new menu, like roast diver scallop with pickled apple and jalapeño, and whole soy glazed baby chicken served with fries and slaw.

Blenheim Palace
Spring Wine Dinner
To celebrate the new spring menu at the Orangery at Blenheim Palace, Searcys will be hosting an exclusive wine tasting dinner. Wine specialist John Ferguson-Smith will be pairing a range of more unusual wines with each dish that Searcys’ Head Chef Billy Bush has created. Starting with a Champagne reception, the dinner will include three courses with a choice of two dishes per course and wine selected for each dish, guests will then be asked to vote for their favourite pairing. Dishes include the likes of Salmon with compressed watermelon and pickled cucumber paired with Sancerre Rose, Le Rabault, Joseph Mellot, Loire France.

Chai Ki x Alfred Le Roy
Smoke on the Water
Indian restaurant, Chai Ki, are taking to the water for a one-off cruise aboard the lovingly restored canal boat Alfred Le Roy. Departing from CRATE brewery the boat will cruise down the Limehouse Cut all whilst serving chai ki street chaat, Indian spiced cocktails, playing modern Indian and House tunes and releasing coloured smoke and paint from canons – it’s going to be quite the spectacle!

Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch
Join The Duke of York and the Lord Mayor for a big old curry lunch. The annual event is back, raising money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, with a selection of curries to choose from created by Noon Foods as well as Cobra Beer, wine from Private Cellar and cocktails created by the Lord Mayor himself, served at rooftop bar Coq d’Argent. Take part in a silent auction and you could see yourself opening Tower Bridge or visiting the Championships at Wimbledon.

El Bandito
Tequila and Mezcal
Fifty tequilas and twenty five mezcals will be available at hidden Shoreditch pop-up bar, El Bandito. A taste of Mexico out east, the residency will be shaking up frozen margaritas, homemade desperados and flights of tequila, and specialist spirit brands not available anywhere else in the UK.

Russian Vodka and Caviar
Easter falls late this year but celebrate a little bit early with a sophisticated pop-up Russian vodka and caviar bar at Quaglino’s. Ok, it may not sound very Easter-y but they’ve teamed up with Fabergé for two weeks of caviar, vodka cocktails and Russian dishes including foie gras and smoked garlic chicken kievs. A gold chocolate egg with Grand-Marnier and hot chocolate sauce sounds more familiar to us…

We Are Dinner Ladies
Seven Deadly Sins
We are Dinner Ladies is creating a secret underworld under the Joker of Penton Street, for an afternoon of sinfully delicious food and fun, with each course representing one of the seven deadly sins. Alongside the dishes, which are being kept under wraps for now, there’ll be edible décor, elaborate performances and you’ll also have some tricky decisions to make, for example for ENVY you’ll be asked whether you want to pay an extra £10 for the course or not – will you be envious of those who choose to?…

Thursday Feast
The second Thursday Feast at Craft London is all about the Mangaltisa pigs that have been grazing in Stevie’s garden in Kent. Using everything from the nose to the tail, dishes will include head, feet, chicories and orange, early asparagus with used coffee and back-fat margarine, five-house wood grilled shoulder and loin of pork with burnt apple, onion broth and sage, sweet ham tart “Faviken” and back fat fudge. Pork lovers rejoice.

A Little Lusciousness Supper Club
Hot Cross Bun BBQ
A Little Lusciousness is joining forces with Neil Rankin for a special Hot Cross BBQ on Good Friday. There’ll be a game-changing Indian BBQ with lamb from Daphne’s Original Welsh Lamb, plenty of cocktails and an auction with prizes such as dinner for two at Temper and tickets to the premiere of Alien Covenant with Michael Fassbender. All proceeds will be going to Trekstock, Young Adult Cancer Support and it’s a great way to start your Easter weekend…

The Art of Dining
Retro-Futuristic Dining Experience
What do you get when you mix a set designer and an ex-Moro chef? You get The Art of Dining; immersive foodie pop-ups hosted everywhere from warehouses to National Trust houses. They are back for April with Operation Red Rocket, inspired by the moon landing of 1965. Interactive set design will be complimented by a retro, internationally-inspired 5-course feast of Chinese cumin pork ribs with soft boiled tea eggs and Russian honey cake with sour cream ice cream. Tickets include a welcome drink, 5-course feast and entertainment.
